So, I'm sure most of you know I've been seeing a guy now, 1.5 months. Once a week, we do an activity. Met in real life (not through Grindr etc., but at a Bday party). Sometimes he's very chatty by text, but lately he seems a bit distant. For example, he would just ignore my text for a bit and just call me later (in fact, not always), or just ignore my text, or reply simply with an emoticon which totally ignores my question. He's a busy guy, and I appreciate that, but is it that hard to say 'sorry, I'm doing x, i'll get back to you tomorrow morning etc.?'
I feel like this is too early on and silly to even mention to him, but it really bothers me. I do my best to always reply ASAP, or tell him I'm busy, and the only time I do ignore his texts would be if my phone is off or not on me (which isn't really ignoring).
Am I reading too much to this, and being a bit crazy? Opinions please. It's quite bothering me.

Xavier92 saidI think it's a bit rude. I always try to reply to people with full sentences. You should try to go on more dates with him.

He is a pretty busy guy, and I really do appreciate that, so for now, once a week is ok, but the ignoring texts I find annoying, and rude. If a friend did it, it doesn't bother me nearly as much as if a date or BF does it. Am I being a whiny bitch?

I just want to know if you guys think it's abnormal if I do ask, and what you would do in a similar situation.

If he ignores a text occasionally or doesn't reply in full straight away he's probably just busy so don't take it to heart.

I think it might be a little too soon to formally complain about it, on the other hand if it bothers you you should tell him. The middle thing would be to tell him but not blame him though, just ask him whats going on maybe hes not even aware that pisses you off.

It's becoming more frequent, I guess as he gets to know me and feels more comfortable to show his true colors?

If this continues, nothing is going to become official.

Not to be a downer but it could also mean he's not so much into him anymore. So ST you think think he might have lost interest?

dude, i def think you're being a bit cray cray.

ummm, it's been 1.5 months?? lol. And you're already not happy with the amount of time he takes to respond to a text. I definitely recommend you relax./

woodsmen saidEarly in a relationship, it is important for the rhythm of the communications to be in harmony. It is a dance. But it is important to not maximize something unrelated to you. Is he in graduate school? Does he have a demanding job? Is there a family illness? If there is no excuse for him to not be a good dance partner in stepping in the same rhythm, then you are right to worry.

He is quite busy, School, works full-time, a lot of personal family problems which I won't disclose here because it's not right. He still finds time to see his friends, so he isn't crumbling under pressure. So, I honestly don't know. I just sense something is off.

But at the end of the day, you guys aren't just friends. YOu guys are dating. I would expect more communication if people want to get to know each other.

He might be just unorganised though like I write out replies to text messages all the time but I frequently forget to press send so it might be that.

Considering I put the once a week only rule for us, I highly doubt I'm 'cray, cray' as you so eloquently put it. It's the change in trend that's bothering me, mostly.

I just think this whole situation is unnecessary drama.
It's not a big deal. I dont think this guy is all that interested..... not rocket science, but if he was he'd be responding to these texts. And with all these rules and regulations in place, it already seems to be a hot mess.

As not to rush too quickly, as a lot of people do.
