I'm canceling my cable because my friend go Amazon Fire TV and it works perfectly well. Who need all these channels? I could save a lot. HBO, Netflix, Hulu etc are all in there. I pay $175 every month on my cable. If I get the Amazon Fire TV it's only $99.

If you already have purchased things from itunes, then get an Apple TV. But the Fire is a little more compelling now that Amazon signed a deal with HBO.

I don't know if this is true for all game systems BUT my friends Nintendo Wii and his new Nintendo 3D or whatever it's called has Netflix and YouTube. I'm sure it has other things, but we only watched NetFlix.

Mario Party is the best with a group of friends! Add some snacks (Fruit, celery and carrot sticks) and maybe some alcohol and it really is a party!

Doesn't it (Amazon Fire) get even better if you get Amazon Prime?

Yes, Amazon Prime members get free two day shipping on eligible items (Real life disclosure: sometimes it comes the next day other times it takes 3 business days). You also have free access to tons of movies, shows, and documentaries.

I go really cheap. Roku with Netflix and Amazon prime and use HBO once in a while sharing an account. That's around 20 bucks a month . More than I ever have time to watch.

Amazon Fire's HBO is just old HBO (3+ years ago) I believe.

Either way cable these days is ridiculous. I cancelled mine about 6 months ago and I'm never going back. Unfortunately I feel like they are going to start offsetting that cost to internet.

I have several seasons of shows on iTunes. If I had to get Amazon to watch a series, I'll own both. But, iTunes pretty much covers everything... IMHO, if the programs you want aren't on it, why buy it?

I've survived two years on rabbit ears and no plans to change back.

But, its my fitness level that keeps my friends/family from immediately suspecting I surf porn too much.

But it's $99 for the box and then monthly for whatever services you have.

Another thing to consider is that the cable companies have gone out of their way to make people forget that you can actually pick up a number of free broadcast channels on your TV without cable. So at least for local news and some big network TV, you should be able to pick it up with just an antenna.

Me too! I have an Apple TV and the only channels I use are netflix, hulu and espn (during the fall only). And I don't pay that much. Maybe $35 monthly.

Thank you guys I think I will get Amazon Prime since most of you recommend it to me. I already called AT&T and cancelling my cable. I will save $175 a month. I'll just keep my Wi-Fi.

I have 1 apple TV in every room of the house (5 total). amazing cause you can have zones for music for parties, or you can have your phone airplay music to whatever room of the house ur currently in. It's also amazing for everything else like netflix, movie library of digital copies from blurays i buy, it's small and 100% silent literally, much better picture quality netflix / amazon and hulu than my ps3 or ps4 (i think their buffering might be messed up cause it stays pixelated for the first minute of any show unlike apple tv).
