Does anyone know of any good nut-free protein bars?

I'm deathly allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. Every bar I look at always says "may contain traces of nuts/peanuts" or "manufactured on equipment/in a facility that also processes peanuts/nuts".

Granted, just because it is made on equipment that also processes nuts doesn't mean it contains any traces of nuts, but I would have to assume that the manufacturer meticulously cleans the equipment. And that is something I'm not willing to assume.

I suppose that I could try to formulate my own protein bar using some protein powder, high fiber cereals and grains, but I'm just wondering if there is something out there already, and if it's good.

    thanks

dunno about shop processed ones but I can hit you up with a recipe that is high protein and takes minutes to make and is far more palatable than the shop ones

I wouldn’t like to get that recipe myself if you do not mind sharing it? I find the bought bars somewhat cardboard tasting.

bfg, that would be fantastic, i'm going to take a wing at whipping something up myself. Another plus is that there wouldn't be any preservatives in anything i make
