"Over the weekend, while nation-wide attention was focused on the racist comments reportedly made by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, some conservative commentators were focused on something else: Sterling's party affiliation.

Specifically, certain conservatives were taking the media to task for supposedly ignoring Sterling's ties to the Democratic Party. But a bit of context was missing. Sterling is a registered Republican."

Like right-wingers care. Truth is not something they value highly, or even much at all.

I could care less if he's a registered Republican or a registered Democrat, he has the right to whatever personal views he likes without being forced out of his livelihood and society in general. If people can't see how dangerous this is and how far the Politically Correct Thought Police are going we have a lot more to worry about than the personal views held by any individual. The answer to speech you don't like is more speech, never less.

BTW, don't worry about my soul and what would do it good. I know far better than you what would do my soul good. Maybe you should look into trying to improve yourself instead of trying to pull the mote out of another's eye.

When exactly do you step up and own your own "disinformation" (misinformation)?

One of our own RJ Right Wingers began a thread claiming Sterling to be a Democrat, right in the topic line. Uh-oh.....

And I asked, several times as I recall, for evidence of this claim.

No one is trying to take away free speech. But we don't have to respect his belief system of gross disrespect toward others. Free speech can also mean calling people out on their words and actions.

The fact that you are on this thread to support a white supremacist seems typical of your posts. I think you're just using free speech to disguise your true intentions.

Free speech is a funny thing. You see, you can say whatever you like, but people can dislike what you say. It's a two way street and it is perfectly fair.

When this story first came out this morning, the comments below the stories were first to blame the initial sources and question their credibility, a columnist for the LA Times and Mother Jones. When other sources began reporting the same thing, the comments shifted to saying it shouldn't make a difference what political party he belongs to. Exactly. That is correct. So then why did it make a difference when it was found that he had donated to some Democrats many years ago? Although this story stems from the initial story of Donald Sterling and his racist comments, this latest twist is not really a story about Sterling. It is a story about the conservative media that seemed to take much glee and joy when they thought Sterling was a Democrat and then were shown to be incorrect. Many were not just claiming he donated to some Democrats, but that he was a Democrat. One story in the National Review once had this headline: "Racist Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Is a Democrat." The same story now has this headline: "Racist Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Has Only Contributed to Democrats." Whether he is a Republican or a Democrat or an Independent does not matter. He is despicable racist scum, but once again, this latest development is not about him.

Rightwing media rushed their story IN BIG BOLD TYPE.

When they found out they were wrong, they didn't bother correcting or the correction was easy to ignore.

This is what is so fraudulent about FOX, DRUDGE REPORT, DAILY CALLER and all the rest of this fake media.

Is this despicable fool really a registered republican or is this just some nonsensical propaganda being cooked up by all the EXTREMIST LIBERAL HENS in the democratic party trying to cover up the fact that this racist idiot has contributed to democratic campaigns. Some of these liberal publications don't always have their facts accurate. It is not just Fox News that distorts the truth, the liberals have done a good job of distorting the truth in the past.

Really, you have to stop this sort of thing. The man's Republican registration (since 199icon_cool.gif has been confirmed by the Board of Elections in California.
