I know this is a so-yesterday issue but I just feel like making a thread, and here it is.

I don't always send anyone messages first, because I'm pretty shy .
But sometimes I feel like doing it because what they wrote on their profile made my smile the whole day and I just wanted to let them know that.

And well, I don't need they to reply, I just hope my message got read so they can see what I want to tell them, to know that they have somebody like me who's inspired by what they wrote, to know that they did a good job in life and I'm happy to see that,...
but they didn't even click on my message, they did view me tho.

What people write and the way they act are too different , I'm ok, not sad at all but just a little disappointed.

How about you, have you ever got ignored (silly question, I'm sure yes lol) or something like that ?
Hope you guys have a great day !

It's just how social sites are..
Iv'e been through this over the years.

Sending an e-mail that saying.. "I love what you wrote on your profile page" or "Love what you posted in xxx" does not always mean... Marry Me!!..

Karl, over the years on here you've shown over and over what a sweet and all around great guy you are. Anybody should want to have a friend like you in their life.

If someone doesn't reply to you it's their loss. They are shallow and stupid and unwilling to look any deeper than the screen of their gizmo.

    tl,dr: it's them, not you.

I'm sure a lot of us experience that. Some courteous response would be nice, of course. Maybe they view the profile, are not interested, and don't want to bother to write back because it can lead to more dialogues that they don't want. icon_neutral.gif

    um, get real dude.

An unread message is no reason to get sad and disappointed. I just dont think it's that serious.

I used to get messages from David3000 all the time and eventually just stopped openeing them cuz they were usually corny ass come-ons and stupid one-liners. Made me think he was idiot and I didnt wanna think that so I stopped openeing them.

    I wouldn't worry about it. it's not

icon_eek.gificon_eek.gif Too bad David3000 is gone, so we won't get to hear his side of the story.

I totally get it, that's why I'm not sad but a little bit curious.
Thank you for the reply icon_biggrin.gif

As I told a guy on here, that would make us embrace people who reply even more icon_biggrin.gif

It's just my speculation though. And yes, it makes us appreciate those who respond much more.

I think sometimes it depends on why they're here yeah?

Sadly, some people put up whatever they think will make them look witty and attractive to others, instead of just being honest about who they are and what they want.

So their actions tell you what their profiles don't. Which is.... who they are and, more specifically, what they want.

Just take heart that not everybody is the same, and there are some real, genuine guys on here, even if they can sometimes be more difficult to find than others.

Well Karl, as you can see on this topic (and on others) some people have little in the way of manners or any kind of social etiquette. When it happens, and they look at your profile but don't bother to read the email, simply say to yourself, "Aha, I'd better remember this about that person." and walk away.

Well I haven't actually messaged anyone first on here yet, in fact, this is my first response on this site other than a mail or two(Okay, WHERE is my cake? Cookies work too, you know.)

    But...

If they are viewing profile and not even bothering to open mail to see what you have to say? Then my opinion is you probably didn't want to talk to them anyway, yeah?

Don't take it to heart, man, this is the internet and you find -all- kinds here. Some of us are just nicer than others *Grins*

I haven't been active very long here myself but I see know what you mean. Online and in real life I have trouble starting conversations. But I'm working on it.

    Welcome to RJ.
If the guy doesn't know you or think you're hot (see Jmusmc's post), chances are you won't get a reply, even from guys who say they reply to all emails, and like Polfsky said, if they check your profile, and instantly decide they don't want to get involved in a conversation with you . . . And if they get a lot of emails, they might never read most of them. Just remember who doesn't respond, and draw your conclusions.

there is not even a small organized effort to verify who is posting on realjock. Chances > 1/3 that post here are not as expected.

It goes both ways: I start a conversation or they do. I find it easier to start a conversation with a stranger on here than in real life...because well, I'm behind a keyboard. I can articulate myself with more precision and honesty when I have time to think about my response. In a sense, I'm more honest behind a screen than in real life...what did Oscar Wilde say about masks.......?....

What you say about the profile thing is very true. Actually, reading other people's profiles has affected my profile. I find my favourite profiles are just sarcastic and fucking ironic. But also genuine - the state their interests, and the things they are into. They project the fact that they're a human with their words, but not just that, use their words with clarity and precision to get across what they want to say about themselves and to reflect an honest/interesting/engaging image of themselves.

But yeah, I think it's silly not to reply. The ability to ignore someone without prior knowledge of who they are is the clumsiest trait in a person - next to liking Kim Kardashian...but that's a different matter entirely...for a different thread.

I have had some great conversations on RJ. Some funny, witty, eloquent, just plain brilliant in terms of the connection I have with that person...and then there are the people that send me pictures of their penis. Thank-you, I know what a penis looks like. It's fine. But please talk about something other than how much you jizz when you masturbate. icon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gif
