Heard of this, but never experienced it before: Was just searching a flight - about to make a reservation on JetBlue. I apparently was taking too long; just as I was about to click on a lowest fare, it suddenly was no longer available. Immediately went to my partner's computer, went to the JetBlue site, and voila - the fare was magically still available for purchase from his computer.

I've had that happen to me before and like you, I tried another computer and that low price appeared.

It only took once for this to happen to learn that if you see a low price, grab it immediately or put the fare on hold, which I believe you can still do with United and American Airlines.

That's only happened to me once on Priceline. One moment, all the exact prices were there. Next moment, only a range of prices were displayed. I went directly to the airline site and all the prices displayed correctly.

There was a story that broke about 1-2 years ago that these air travel websites would charge higher rates if you used a MAC vs. a PC.

LOL. I remember that. The premise was that if Mac users were willing to spend the premium on a computer, they wouldn't make much of a fuss on higher airfare. And PC users were price conscious, and would most likely go elsewhere if airfare was too high.

PC users are not only more thrifty, we also have larger penises.
    True story.
