If I'm not overweight, how important is it to cut back on junk food?

I'm trying to get more muscular by lifting weights, but how important is it to cut back on the junk food, if I still get my 5 a day and I'm not overweight?

Not very. But it is your metabolism that is keeping you thin. That will change. Why not ditch all the processed foods and start eating healthy? You say you are too weak to lift weights- get healthy by eating healthy. You won't feel so weak.

Slim Jims would probably be better than Cheetos.

Oops, sorry; I see you're in the UK. In the US Slim Jims are a dried sausage. Cheetos are what we call chips (potato chips, corn chips); I think you call them crisps.

I imagine you are under eating for your goals at the moment. If this is the case you will need to eat healthier food as you increase the quantity, otherwise you will get fat as you put on muscle.
