Sooner or later, if you are on any classic "spiritual schedule," some event, person, death, idea, or relationship will enter your life

    that you simply

    cannot deal with

(using your present skill set, your acquired knowledge, or your strong willpower).

Spiritually speaking, you will be led to the edge of your own inadequate private resources.

At that point, you will stumble over a NECESSARY stumbling stone. You will "lose" something. We must be out of the driver's seat for a while or we will never learn how to give up control to the Real Guide. Until we are led to our limits in Life, we will not search or find the Real Source, the deep well, the constantly flowing stream of Spiritual Life.

The big thing that suffering does is that it takes you outside of precisely that logic that the Happiness Mentality encourages.

[Excuse me, I have to stop. This line of reasoning gets painful. Sorry. It's on my mind to get to the end.]

    But its Natal Astrology also.

    Three books covering this topic:

Saturn: A New Look at an Old Devil by Liz Greene

Saturn Returns: The private Papers of a Reluctant Astrologer by Elizabeth Spry

Saturn in Transit: Boundaries of Mind, Body, and Soul by Erin Sullivan
