Lifted barbell - 10 reps, 3 sets... enough?

I'm new to all this and have lifted just a few times so far.
It's been a week since I last worked my arms - I was told to wait a week before doing arms again.

I have added quite a bit of weight to the bar bell, and managed to do 10 reps, 3 sets. Now my arms feel 'pumped'.

Is this enough though? I feel like it didn't take long enough to be effective.

    (I kept correct form throughout)

It might be worth checking out one of the workout plans on this website because they are written out by professionals and they have videos etc.

The "pump" is what you're after. Muscle hypertrophy is what stimulates growth. If you can get out 3 sets of 10 reps with correct form, you should add more weight.

    Ahh, i see.
I was getting stressed out when I wrote that. I have been feeling ill for the last few days, and knew it had been a week since working out my arms.

I forced myself to do those sets, but felt guilty for not doing more icon_sad.gif

I usually do a bit more. However, you have to remember that your biceps are relatively small muscles so you don't want to go nuts.

Just look up a basic routine for biceps and follow it for a few weeks. Doing any routine and getting a pump should get you results if you stick with it!
