Maybe not... ''destined'' but i feel like it's calling me.

The last 2 days i have gotten to meet 2 musical heroes of mine! i go to UCLA, And have been working in the ''sound design'' department for commercials, short films, music videos etc. For a few years now and i do see celebrities time to time.

But i know there just normal people and i don't go crazy. The last 2 days though.... icon_eek.gif i had a fan boying moment I'm rather embarrassed by.

We are currently filming a commercial over by USC. And we are also doing a fundraiser there sponsored by the Save The Music foundation. We set up booths that allow kids to play different instruments of their choosing. And we also try to raise money to give to orchestras and bands in schools around California.

Yesterday non other than Michael Stipe showed up! the bald GAWD of R.E.M came and helped with support in the commercial and fundraiser. R.E.M has been a favorite band of mine since i was a kid (All the 80's and 90's albums icon_smile.gif) I was pretty ecstatic by this and said what the fuck out loud when he came in icon_lol.gif

And today... i get up thinking it was going to be a normal work day. I go to the gym and lift, then shower, and head to the final day of the fundraiser. And once again another surprise... The Edge made a surprise appearance!

the guitar player from U2. The king of reverb, the 2nd most famous person in U2 besides bonosaurus, the one who never talks, the one who is also bald! he is now here 0_o 0_0 0_o )_0 0_o A_0

This must mean I'm destined to become a rock star right? not only did i shave off all my hair the other day. But i meet Stipe and Edge two of the bald rock GAWDS on 2 different days? i find that to be no coincidence.

Now, i am going to try not to freak out. And act all fan boyish over here the next hour. And i need to figure out my rock star name pretty soon. I was thinking of the Smalls? The Tysmo? and thickbig. But those are just starter names.

Just wanted to share in my nerdy fan boy moment of the day icon_smile.gif and in my delayed hopes of being a future rock star emot-bravo2.gif

Plus U2 hold a very special place in my aggressive heart.

This is the song i was listening to the first i benched 255. I was stuck in the 245-250 for the longest damn time. And i had a playlist of dark and murky sounding music to get me in the zone. This was the song that got me over the edge icon_biggrin.gif

Don't get too excited. Baldness is a sure sign of demonic possession.

owl_bundy saidgood for you. congrats. how was it like meeting michael stripe though? isn't he gay?

Honestly he is just how i imagined him. He reminded me of Lenny Kravitz (Another idol of mine i got to meet last year! very good looking in person too) he was very hippie like icon_lol.gif

He was also very weird! which i kind of expected from him honestly. He talked a lot about politics and Aloe Vera oil cause it kills bad toxins thrown in the air by evil people. His boyfriend was also there and he was awesomely odd as well.

Yah bro! but it's 17 minutes long. I personally have a 4 and a half minute bass solo. That is included with jazz 7 chords, and funky Bootsy Collins slap bass technique. Then there's a Japanese singer at 9:30, then a choir at 10:00, then a guitar solo that lasts from 5:00 to 11:00 while the others are going. There's also a brief drum solo, sax solo, horns solo, another bass solo, and a spoken word peace about politics and aggressive love making.

Of course! you've always had great taste icon_lol.gif Jaco is amazing! while Stanley Clark is severely underrated. He's known more nowadays a guitar player more than a bass player.

ummm... if you're serious about being a "rockstar" you better stop all this, get out your drum machine and start cranking out 3 minute ditties with 4 on the floor beats asap.
