    Maybe it's an good example of why parents should not give their kids their own way, and what they feel they want as children. Or this young women may really of been made to look like and be a male, with medical intervention.

    Exactly. There are times when a parent needs to put their feet down and say "no."

    Hopefully neither of you are suggesting this applies to all kids.

    She never thought that she was a guy. I think that some of you are missing the point (meninlove excluded). And BTW, it is not the parents that decide whether the a child is male or female. For those that are questioning that, it is up to professionals with expertise in this area to determines that (along with the parents and the child) during a long process that takes many years.
