Right... to start off this isnt a subject i would usually think of discussing but... i have always wanted to have a different style to mine (currently short but i usually have it longer), i think of changing it and or having a "style" but dont no what would suit me and or if i could carry it off and keep up the maintenance other than washing and combing, so how did you choose your hair style ? how much time do you spend on it ? what styles suit who ?

I always have had a pretty lazy habit of waiting until my hair is about chin-length or longer before I'd go in and have it cut. I'd then let the stylist choose what she wanted to do.

I've never particularly liked my hair super short. Probably because as punishment as a kid, I'd had my head shaved a few times.

A few years ago, I ended up with pretty severe scar on my cheek. I went in to the stylist and she helped me figure out a style that would cover the healing scar. Only recently have I started to feel comfortable letting my hair be cut above chin length again, but I still prefer it long enough to cover my cheek on my more uncomfortable days.

So... if you want to experiment? My suggestion is let it grow out and roll the dice with a stylist. (Not a barber.) See what they come up with and give it at least a month for you to get used to it before you judge if you like it or not.

Hmm well it all depends on what you like. I mean, speaking for myself, I have like medium-length hair. I did try years ago to let it grow longer than it is now but I didn't like it so now, I swore to myself that I'd never let my hair get that long. lol
So I just stay with medium length. Of course, I have "black" hair so I have to be careful with what I do so I keep that in mind.

My advice is if you really don't know what get, do a google image search. Looking up things like "short hairstyles" or "long hairstyles" and so on and find a few you like. Then go to a stylist and get her input on it.

I started growing my hair when I was 15 years old. I wash it twice a week. It can only be combed while wet and it has to have conditioner in it as well, otherwise it's impossible. I only use a leave in conditioner or moisturizer at night - nothing too fancy. During the day, whenever I have a shower, I just "wet & shake" and pat dry with a towel, air dry.

Everyone but me thinks im obsessed and spend way too much time/money on my hair. Shampoo-wash and re-twist twice/three times a week (takes minimum 1.5hrs), go to the salon to treat once every 3 weeks and dye black once every two months. I spend more on hair products than both my girlfriends combined. It's the price to pay for dreadlocks, but i've loved having em since i was in highschool. Just as a personal rule though, i shave it all off when they get longer than shoulder-length and start over. Crazy i know... Hehe, try that.
