omg, I would not want that filmed in my house, that should be a private moment with his bf and family, get those stupid cameras out of there, like vultures, geez. I have not seen this video explode yet on national TV, just the two of them kissing should be enough icon_razz.gif

St Louis Rams? They could be moving back to LA again

Awesome, how can you be anything happy for this guy! Hard work made him a good football player, being gay didn't stop him from being recognized for his talents. We've come a long way! Just awesome!

I got choked up when I saw the video and damn near started crying. Very touching.

BTW, I'm sure they will come through for a new venue for the Rams in St. Louis, however, I say send 'em back to LA as that will open the door a little wider for the Jags to vacate the armpit of the world known as Jacksonville and move to Orlando.

The talk and scuttlebutt has just started here on that. Hope it happens!

I was so happy for Michael Sam. One thing I am seeing in the media today is more hoopla about "The Kiss" (or multiple kisses) after he got the call, than the fact that he was actually drafted. Michael Sam is one brave man. I've got mixed emotions about "The Kiss". On one hand, it's no big deal and straight guys kiss their girlfriends or wives when they get drafted, so it should be no different for Michael Sam or another gay player. On the other hand, I'm not sure he needed to go so far so soon --- at least not on TV. A bit more restraint might have been a smarter way to play it. A part of it seemed to almost be staged for the media.

One thing I think Michael Sam definitely needs to do now is stay out of the media and let this now become all about football and him making the team. If I were the Rams front office, I would have him do one day of press to answer any and all questions the media has now that he has been drafted, and then completely cut him off from any and all media access. This could begin to do more harm than good if the media is allowed too much access to Michael Sam, because the media will make this a big circus just as they did with Tim Tebow's popularity. In fact, the media has already made this a big circus, and this will not be good for Michael Sam if it continues.

Sometimes I just want to slap the S#*$& out of you.

How do you know the kiss was not just a spur of the moment thing? Why should he be ashamed of who he is and not kiss the person he's in a relationship with? Why should he continue to hide who he is?

How can he stay out of the media? Is it he who is initiating the events or is it the media hunting him down?

I'm not saying "The Kiss" wasn't a "spur of the moment thing", it very well may have been. I merely said it almost looked staged for the media. Even as a gay man, I thought it treaded dangerously close to crossing a line. Obviously, based on the reactions I saw in the media yesterday and online, for many it crossed WAY over the line. Not saying that is right or wrong, but merely saying that playing the whole thing a little smarter in front of the cameras might have been the way to go.

Also not suggesting Michael Sam should be ashamed of who he is and not kiss the person he's in a relationship. Obviously, it's way to late to hide it. What I am saying is that a little smart restraint could go a long way, especially in front of TV cameras...at least in the early stages of this. A kiss is one thing...many kisses and licking cake off of each other's faces is quite another. I'm just saying that Michael Sam has to play this in a smart way so that it doesn't encourage a blow-back. Already, "The Kiss" was the story yesterday, and I think that wasn't necessarily a positive.

As for Michael Sam staying out of the media, that's something the St. Louis Rams will have to control, just as the San Diego Chargers did an effective job last season of controlling the access the media had to Manti Teo. Already, the Michael Sam story is in overkill mode, and this starts to take away from the positive aspects of the story. It has to stop being about "The Gay" and "The Kiss" and start being all about "The Football".

You should have stopped at your first hand. It's OK for Sam to do what straight guys do, but just not where anyone can see it?

Some liberated and open gay man YOU are. Liberated in the dark. icon_razz.gif

Now I've actually advised caution for guys coming out, because of dependent family situations in which they may find themselves. With the ultimate goal of being out to everyone. Sam is way past that, his being gay a national story.

What do people think gays do to show their love & affection? Shake hands? About time they learned the awful truth. icon_eek.gif

I'm pretty sure that when AJ McCarron got the call from the Cincinnati Bengals that he was drafted into the NFL that we didn't see him licking cake off of the face of Katherine Webb (which, I might add, I wouldn't have thought was appropriate or in good taste either). I don't recall seeing an elated Johnny Manziel nosh on his girlfriend when he got the news from Cleveland either. Look, I'm not saying Michael Sam shouldn't have been able to get caught up in the moment and kiss his boyfriend as he shared that joy with him. What I am saying is that the repeated kissing, and then the licking of the cake off each others lips treaded dangerously close to taking a good thing into over-the-top mode. This is how the world was introduced to the 1st openly gay man being drafted into the NFL, and the next day the story was less about that historic moment, and more about "The Kiss". Was that a good thing? I don't think so. Again, a little restraint -- especially with the world watching -- might have been a smarter approach in the early stages of this. That is NOT me being "liberated in the dark" but rather this is me not being blinded to The Bigger Picture. I think it was a good thing that America saw "The Kiss", but I also think that there can be too much of a good thing.

Do we know if kathrine Webb was there at the announcement? Do we know if he did not kiss her or that he did but the media did not show it. And who the hell cares if AJ carron did not stick his tongue down his girlfriend's throat? From what I saw Michael didn't do this either.
Perhaps AJ Carron is not as much into pussy as Michael is into cock.
