    On a scale from 1 to 10

    1 being extremely effeminate and 10 being extremely masculine where would you put yourself in terms of your mannerisms and persona?

    Any thoughts as to why?

    We rate each other as 8s. People we know think of us as straight til we tell them. They think we're either related, or buddies with wives (rings we wear).

    I would rate myself a solid 8 in terms of my mannerisms and persona. I am very masculine and only attracted to men who are real men meaning masculine.

    Mainly masculine so anywhere from 7 to 9. So called feminine traits are:

    - not obsessed with sex;
    - naturally monogamous;
    - do not find violence entertaining;

    In my family my Mom is probably the most masculine person in terms of personality traits (her nickname is MAC, short for Mary Catherine, always reminded me of a truck driver). She was not well-endowed with maternal instincts but would much rather have been out in the world working.

    On Halloween this year she dressed up as a man and went around with a woman. Nobody knew who she was. I think she is becoming her true self in her 80s! icon_razz.gif

    A solid 8. If I were a 9 or a 10, I'd be a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal.

    Did you guys ever think your were more masculine then others viewed you to be? You might surprized if you took a survey of the people who know you. I think men (most of the time) think of themselves in terms of their own ideal of masculinity. Masculinity is such a relative thing, it breaks down even further by race and social class in some cases.

    I suppose a 5. My voice is a 4, but my activities and mannerisms are a 6. So 5 it is.

    I bounce between a 5 and 8. I change my own engine oil. I also successfully installed a cold air intake, sway bar, and exhaust system by myself. At the same time I sing and dance to Britney in the showericon_neutral.gif

    Hmmm!

    Mannerisms would be a 7
    Persona would be about a 6

    I like to dance and sing in the shower too and pull a Risky Business when I'm feeling good. I even like to pamper myself sometimes with a facial. Hahahahaha.

    I think a guy has to take into account what other guys have said to him, rather than what he thinks of himself.

    I've met tons of gay guys who are bulked up and "tough" looking, but to me, they look so Gay......It's a "butch" look that is quickly recognized as gay by straight and gay people.

    But who cares....as long as you are happy.

    Most women think I am straight. Even in some gay places, gay guys think I am a "curious" or "liberal" straight guy.

    Gay men have described me as "all man".

    So if I were to rate myself according to what I've heard, I would say I am a 9 or 10.

    I ain't trying to be one way or another, its just who am. And if I want to sing along to Madonna or be a boxer, it doesn't matter.

    hum...

    is 5 as "Straight Act And Walk Like Any Straight Man" ?
    or
    is 5 as 50/50 for a guy being Masculine walking down the street in day time, then be Effeminate and dress up as drag queen for gay clubs at night time?

    I'd be willing to bet that anyone that said 5 or 6 and admitted to singing Britney is probably more masculine than anyone who said 9 icon_neutral.gif

    I think I'm possible more masculine than the average gay guy but less than the average straight guy...

    Most my clothes are fitted Abercrombie or similar, I too sing attempt to sing not a girl, not yet a woman in the shower, and have an irrational obsession with Mean girls and Pinkberry. My tone of voice can get pretty high and I over gesture when I get excited

    Yet everyone says I'm more masculine than the guys I hang around, guys I hit on have called me straight-acting and nobody really guesses unless they spend a while with me. People I work with or meet in class usually have to be told I'm gay.

    I'm going to call myself a seven

    it's just that i saw a show on Logo, and it's about drag queens doing shows in gay clubs. those guys are masculine in their own free time. but when they go to work and dress up as drag queen, then they become effeminate. but they sometime dress up as they please in their free time, too. so that's why i'm asking what 5 exactly stand for. straight act or 50/50 lol
