(Reuters) - Apple Inc will unveil the next incarnation of its popular iPhone series in August, one month earlier than industry watchers were generally expecting, Taiwanese media reported on Friday citing unidentified supply-chain sources.

A 4.7-inch screen version of the iPhone 6 will reach stores in August, the Economic Daily News reported without specifying which markets would receive the phone first.

A 5.5-inch or 5.6-inch model will be released in September, the newspaper said, as the iPhone 5 series was previously.

I'll wait until I handle both larger iPhone 6 sizes, if these reports are accurate. I like my iPad for heavier tasking, don't want a phablet that's too big for my pocket.

LOL. Everyone's gonna bitch and complain about the larger screen.

Then 2 weeks later, "oh my gawd! this is like the best thing ever! i can actually read emails on my phone. and i don't have to squint when i watch porn. so glad Apple was the first to invent this!"

This is what I want to see for myself. Some friends have larger Android phones, I may ask them to let me try them for pocket "fit".

As long as you don't wear tight jeans, you'll be ok.

i would ask myself if i really needed a new iPhone; its really the ios that defines the phone anyways.
Its kinda a hassle porting everything over to the new phone. For example you always loose the WiFi password list

if a new iPhone is a must all good but consider pre ordering off a reliable web site.
    or
wait 3-4mo after the initial release. The first batch of iPhones off the boat tend to be buggy.

The only thing I always lose is the voicemail passcode. I think it's an AT&T thing. I always do the phone transfer myself, through my home iMac, even when I've bought some new iPhones at the local Apple store. But I've also bought from Apple online for home delivery. Depends on their store inventory.

And yeah, I tend to wait a month or 2. I've never gotten on line for their first day sales at the store, nor pre-order online. But I did buy my iPad Air the first week, after the initial crush. On a chance I phoned the store to see what the current wait was, expecting to be told weeks, and they said they had my model right now. OK, be there in 15 minutes I replied and got it.
