Does the gay thing seem like such a minor issue now?

I'm young...18. And the gay thing as probably a lot of you know, is not easy!

I'm struggling to understand and often times do not know how to handle it.

    My question is:

Now that a lot of you are older and more mature...does struggling with your sexuality seem like a thing of the past and seem like a minor issue?

I hope one day, I'll look back on this and it will seem like such a small chapter in my life and I will be completely confident in myself!

    Inputs?

It is certainly not as angst ridden as it was in the 1970s when I was your age. Then again I did not have it as bad as people who grew up in the 1950s or earlier.

It partially depends on the environment you are growing up in. If your family are Christian fundamentalists then it will be much more difficult then if they are very liberal and tolerant.

If you are gay and growing up in Saudi Arabia then it is even more difficult since theoretically M/M sex is punishable by imprisonment or death.
