It's the new "We Can Know." What is it with these annual month-of-May rally flops?

Wake Up, Progressives! In Atlanta alone there must be 5 million of these Tea Party Patriots marching through on their way to restore freedom on a federal level.

To be honest I can't see them from my darkened basement bunker but I know I can hear their footsteps above.

I'm freaking out and watching MSNBC while it's still on the air.

If the Patriots For America join forces with NOM and Million Mom's, they may be able to increase their numbers to 15.

I was watching a livestream earlier. They got bored marching and wanted to play bridge but there weren't enough of them to make up two tables.

Ain;t no thing. 10-20 pot smokers to stage a protest today at my county courthouse. Something about medical marijuana and a guy who has a court date for having med pot in his car, car searched after his roommate stabbed him in the armpit and he had surgery. He has the pot script for Crohn's disease. Or Krone's maybe. No, that's a supermarket chain. It's that disease where you shit a lot.

Maybe they got the date wrong, like those people who predict the end of the world every few years?

So here we have the "non-partisan" Metta8 ridiculing people who are upset with the current policies and actions of the Federal government.

While their protest may not have drawn many participants, their grievances are legitimate, yet Metta8 feels the need to make fun of them, and those of you who have posted in this topic joined right in.

I'll keep that in mind the next time Metta8 posts another one of his "sign this petition to stand against (fill in the liberal / leftist / 'progressive cause)" topics.

What I find curious is that when metta8 simply posts a link without comment (and I thank him for those) you criticize him for not including his own opinions. But when he DOES include some personal editorializing, you criticize him for THAT. Seems like metta is "Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't".

And how come YOU'RE the only one here allowed to express political views? And unbridled and unsubstantiated ones at that, with bogus statistics, phony charts, and misrepresented facts.

Wake up and smell the coffee. The lack of Teabagger participants tells you that their "grievances" are NOT "legitimate" but manufactured, endorsed by few. And what is being mocked here is not their right to protest (which they successfully exercised without interference), but rather their pompous claims of widespread support, and terrorist threats of toppling the government.

They are properly mocked as fools because the ARE fools. And my own American right to say so is not gonna be blocked by YOU, nor will anyone else's right here. icon_biggrin.gif

Probably this is a positive sign that the tea party is finally dying out. If so, than it cannot come soon enough because these right wing extremists have brought disgrace onto the once proud and viable GOP.

...though I challenge you to point out where I stated I wanted to "block" your ability to state your own opinion.

Then I'll use a synonym for block: oppose. Because you clearly would like to block, oppose, limit, bar, prevent, stiffle, etc, posts from metta8, and from me, and from some others on this site.

I will COUNTER your propaganda, but you constantly complain that metta8 shouldn't be posting at all. That's a distinction you're conveniently overlooking.

May I suggest the IGNORE button? A step I took long ago.

And another vote of thanks to Metta8 for all his posts. You can read them or not, but it's great they're there if you want - which I do.

    On point.

Did Operation Rethuglican Spring work, or did it fail a la every other conservative scheme of the past decade?

Your tack(slant) doesn't work SouthBeach, as has been proven time and time again, yet you persist. Everyone knows you don't like Metta.

...so I take it you're all for this American Spring thing and toppling the gov't that way?

Limitations of the Ignore button are:

    - I'm only sticking my own head in the sand. Others here are still reading this propaganda, and other BS, without contradiction.
    - I still see the Ignored member when others quote him. So that the individual Ignore feature accomplishes nothing.

And I agree, metta8 deserves a big vote of thanks for all the great links he posts here. He's my lifeline to a lot of things I miss on news sites. RJ is lucky to have a great guy like metta8 here, a bonus to membership on this site. icon_biggrin.gif

By flooding the "Gay News" and the "News and Politics" forums with copy and paste headlines and links to leftist / liberal / "progressive" stories, he is clearly expressing an opinion.

And how is your own "flooding" of RJ with anti-Obama posts & links any different? metta8 at least posts other stuff, but you predominately post anti-Obama tirades. As you have for years here, since Obama was first elected. Anyone care to dispute that?

    I don't like nor do I dislike Metta8.

What should be very clear by now is that I don't think it is fair for one particular member to copy and paste a headline and a link to create dozens of topics each week yet contributes nothing whatsoever to the discussion, in a discussion forum.

There's also some intellectual dishonesty going on here by the members who view Metta8 as providing "valuable news stories" that "we need to know."

Metta8 - as you all know - is posting stories that advance the leftist agenda and disparage the right. If he was posting pro-right stories and disparaging the left, suddenly those "news stories" wouldn't be so "valuable" and you certainly would not "need to know" them.

I know babies who do less crying and whining than this guy.

Metta posted a link. Oh the horror. *faints*
