I have a varsity jacket but its not mine. Back in high school there was this really hot wrestler I had a crush on, think Zac Efron but bigger and less girly looking, his name was Jack. My PE class changed in the morning, the same time the varsity wrestling team would change for practice. It would always be packed and the guys would be nearly shoulder to shoulder as they undressed. Jack's locker was right next to mine, and I always got the best view of his fucking sick body while he changed
Anyway, I got dragged to a high school dance with some friends. To my surprise Jack was there with his girlfriend (and yes she was amazing looking too) I had taken a break from dancing to get some air and water. I was walking around my school at night, feeling the breeze, and sucking on ice cubes from my cup. I saw someone smoking near the portibles and decided to spy. It was Jack, he saw my shadow watching and started to hide the lit joint but I called out to him to calm down. We ended up smoking and talking, at first about how lame the high school dances were and how we were both dragged to come against our will. My heart stopped when he told me he had noticed me around campus. Nearly every moment I was in awe of the surreality of getting to know the most perfect guy, and to hear him say those words shot me to the moon. We didn't go back to the dance, just wandered for hours until his girlfriend called him on his cell that she was looking for him and he had to go.
We didn't talk much at school, his girlfriend went everywhere with him. There were a couple times we said hello or I turned around and found him looking at me but we never got to hang out. I was intimidated by his good looks, and didn't want to become infatuated with a straight guy. School ended but during the summer I saw him at a party. His girlfriend wasn't around. We started talking, he told me he broke up with her but that it was for the best. By the end of the night people would have guessed Jack and I had known eachother for years. We exchanged numbers and hung out more and more.
I saw something change in him. He was so comfortable around me, and eventually ended up coming out to me. I told him I was gay too and he said, "Good, because I've had a crush on you as long as I can remember." We had one night together, he left me his varsity jacket, and then we never saw eachother again. He disappeared. His parents put out searches, the police looked; but he just vanished. I don't think I'll ever stop wonder what happened to him.
