I was a huge Kate Bush fan in college (mid-80s). So, I got a real kick out of reading the lede to this story!

Poetry majors and professional jugglers around the world are squealing with delight today after Kate Bush announced that she will be playing live for the first time in 35 years.

I was a business major, but we can enjoy her music too!

So far it is 15 dates from August 26 to October 1 of this year, all taking place in London and all tickets are already sold. No other upcoming dates or locations dates have been announced.

Tori Amos just came out with her 14th album, "Unrepentant Geraldines" and her music has some similar qualities to early Kate Bush. My favorite song on the new album is called "Oysters." A music reviewer said it was like chamber pop from another dimension. I think it sounds like an underwater dream.

Joe i havent listened to tori amos in years.. i have a cd from her called songs from the choirgirl hotel and it's amazing.
I think she's always being compared with kate bush because of the piano playing but i think they are quite different.

I just got into her within the last year and a half. She is amazing at what she does! great writer, producer, musician, and singer. Wish she would do some dates in the US. I'm glad i was a huge Peter Gabriel fan... or i would have never discovered Kate Bush.

I read that someone close to her was killed on tour in 1979. It was a stage accident or something? and since then she has sworn off touring till now.

I really liked her new album! way better than Night Of Hunters in my opinion. Couldn't get into that one...

I actually preferred Night of Hunters (except for the songs where Tori's daughter joins in, I skip those) I was enjoying Tori's classical phase.

Looks like Kate Bush's dates sold out quickly.

^ I think they sold out in less than a day.

I was going to post about it here when they announced them, but seeing as most of you are in America & probably wouldn't be able to come over.............
