HIIT works like this. Intensity vs time. Old science is old science.

I can believe this from my own personal experience. I once did a pilgrimage in Spain. I walked across the entire north of Spain and it took me a month. It was a 500 mile trek. I went from a bulky 225lb to a super ripped 185lb. I walked at least ten hours a day and sometimes fourteen. I ate HUUUGE meals every time I ate. Also I did not refrain from eating sugary treats. I knew I needed calories just to try and hold onto some weight. I ate chocolate, cookies or lots of yogurt or flan at every meal.

My body looked amazing and my ass never looked better. The effects lasted for a year.

This happens to Appalachian Trail thru-hikers, too.

After four days, the men had each lost almost 11 pounds, with nearly half of that coming from body fat; the rest of the loss came primarily from muscle mass.

Well, even when bodybuilders cut up they lose some muscle in the process also. It's not strictly fat that they lose.

Do you think when an off season bodybuilder diets down and drops thirty or more pounds to cut up that this is all from fat?

    Wigguh, pleeeez....
I realize that, but a 50/50 cut? That sounds a bit extreme.

But look at it this way:

It's guaranteed you'll be able to slip into your summery strappy dresses to show off your new sinewy body. Isn't that what you want, hun?
I was actually hoping to slip out of it more often, but yeah something like that. icon_biggrin.gif
