    ATTENTION:

Hey all you creative, smart and or genius types. This includes business owners, CEO'S and company executives. I wanted to ask?? What do you think will be the next big hit? It can include any ideas, comments or predictions.

Are you a right side thinker or left side or both?

My idea is to market a concept in emergency preparedness.Things that you need in case of disasters. A kit so to speak. Also, I am thinking what's the next big thing to invest in?? Something in Hospitality that's gay related??

    What do you think?

I think with both sides, and I'm strongly against charging people for emergency preparedness. That implies that only those wealthy enough to afford the product(s) should survive the disaster. That makes you no better than the bigwigs in the medical and pharmaceutical industries, and speaks volumes about your character.

If you want to market a concept, choose one based on created demand rather than basic human survival needs.

No exactly. I don't want to charge a fortune for the items. I want to develop it for distribution and shipment. Sorta like the iphone. I do want to make it affordable. There's no helicopter in my package. Only reasonable items for survival. I haven't seen one out there!! I think there will be a HUGE demand. So many are not ready when disaster hits. That's all I have noticed...

What kind of disaster? Hurricane? Tornado ... by the time they hit you will have lost the kit, or it will have been swept away.

Or are you thinking nuclear Holocaust disaster. Just carry a knife and a gun with plenty of ammo.

So many people are sitting ducks!
I have a trip to San Francisco and
I don't even want to go. Why? What if? CA
is a disaster waiting to happen! I mean that's
a perfect thing to get out with.

all kidding aside it's actually a sad commentary on society that there is a perceived need for an active shooter kit. It goes back to the basic argument: do guns increase or decrease our safety in a modern American urban setting?

There are companies and organizations that already do that. What would make yours different?

Getting back on track, though: what is the point on grabbing the end of the glorified garden hose contraptions? I'm still confused by that.

It's not that mine would be any different. I am sure there are many companies who do. My idea is getting it in hands of the people (A large scale) . Creating that sense of URGENCY. If there are so many companies who have it.....why then are so many left unprepared?

It's how you differentiate your product, Metta. He said "gay related". Since the usual kits look like typical army surplus stuff why not play with it and adopt glow in the dark pink packs with stuff that would resonate with the gay community some how, tongue in cheek style.

Some of the next big things...my guess...

Will be more technological advances in the tech, pharmaceutical, environmental/energy efficient technologies, and health industries. A lot of R&D goes into those areas and there are a lot of advances in development. Those areas will continue to be growth areas because of it.

Unfortunately, political lobbying/election management will continue to grow. The legal industry will continue to grow as well.

I also think that there may be more room for Chipolte type restaurants with different styles of cuisines. They are eating into sit down restaurant sales. People are willing to pay a little more for customized quick service with high quality ingredients. Do not go into the restaurant industry unless you have a ton of successful experience in it or at least have a good partner that does.

More car sharing and bike sharing in metropolitan areas will grow as well.

Being that we have an aging population, products that help people stay in their homes will be popular as well. The nice thing with this is some of the products you choose may be paid for by insurance companies which makes it easier for people to buy them.

And being that many people are having to change careers more frequently, training programs will probably continue to grow.

Evaluate your competition. Do the research on the items you want yours to contain. Determine if you can make a profit after the marketing expenses you need to put into it. There is quite a lot of competition in that already so I'm guessing that the margins are already pretty low in many cases.

I know right!!! Good point and you know what gets me? The fact they want to TAX SOLAR in my State. That's one I am fighting BIG TIME. Also I contacted my REP and told him to get off TESLAS BACK. They want to out law the dealership for selling directly to the consumer. I HATE the old dog systems!!!

I go out some times but it's for gourmet food and I rarely go to anyplace other than that and maybe Chipolte. They have good food too. I am not a fan of Starbucks actually, My diet is slim and even though I love to cook I would never get into the business. There are many foodies in Phoenix, it's all good, but I like my pressed juice drinks from Wholefoods.
