Not to rain on your thread, but this thread is pointless if no change occurs...I think people have made many suggestions over the past few years (I know I have) and they've just gone ignored...icon_confused.gif

Here a few from Xavier that I agree with. I didn't agree with all of his suggestions though:

    -Watermark pictures.
    -More moderators.

    And I'll add that:

-You should have to be verified to post
-Stricter rules when it comes to actually banning people

I'm cross posting this as it is a pretty good list:

    kevex saidJust random suggestions:

10 ways to make RJ better:

    1. Start IP banning the trolls and bullies.
    2. Absolute blocking system. If you block someone, they shouldn't be able to see your profile or comment on your threads.
    3. Watermark pictures.
    4. Non verified members shouldn't be allowed to post. Why wouldn't someone verify? What are they hiding?
    5. More moderators.
    6. No porn on the forums.
    7. Verified members shouldn't be allowed to post images and/or videos until they have at least 50 posts.
    8. People should only be allowed to post 2 threads per day.
    9. Only verified members can be voted for Man of The Day.
    10. Create social groups.

LOL… strictly speaking "porn" isn't allowed now. That is, anything depicting sexual acts.

YourName2000 saidPointless. These idiots have owned this site for nearly a year and all they've done is remove features and dumb down the place. There have been countless "this is what the membership would love" threads....clearly the new owners just don't give a shit about any of that. icon_rolleyes.gif

I've got more hope that MySpace will reclaim its former glory than RJ will.
    MySpace had glory? icon_eek.gif

lol Dudes can still post them on their own profiles anyway. If people want to post porn, fine, but they should be giving the option to mark the thread as NSFW.

Ok, as long as we can still lasciviously admire bodies that we can also aspire to.
    icon_wink.gif

I'm ok with no nsfw stuff, I guess. That is just awkward when you are in a public place.

I don't care much for improvements. As far as I can see it's down to the members to have a common courtesy and respect for one another. If people were a bit nicer things would plod along nicely.

The operative word being IF. But as is obvious, with few exceptions, it ain't happening. In my almost 20 year experience of being in various forums, it won't happen without moderation, either.

Adding the video chat room I suggested. 123FlashChat. Just like the old chat room but better. More features, more docked cams.
Admin says it would cause drama and stuff.

We all speak that "RJ" needs to change. Guys, "RJ" is us. Maybe we need to look at ourselves? We're all grown adults, do we need a babysitter to make sure we play nicely? Like others say, we need to learn to play nicer. We each just need to try to be part of the solution and not the problem.

That's nice coming from someone who just joined, but for us who have been here a while, the site got SERIOUSLY watered down. There were so many things that you could do here (Chat, leave testimonials, group chat, better topics and POSTERS....etc...) and all of those features have been stripped...basically, this website is now like the Southwest Airlines of forums, you get what you pay for...so basically we don't get shit. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I agree with the thrust of your comment, yes, we all need to take responsibility for what we post. No argument there. But in answer to the bolded question, the answer is "yes, we do." And there are numerous reasons for this. Trolls exist on all forums, so do spammers. But equally importantly are the types of heated discussions, nay arguments, that arise in controversial topics. If we could all post rational thinking backed up by verifiable sources all could go well. But you know as well as I do that doesn't happen. Not here or in any other forum where controversial topics are discussed. Moderation in such forums is as necessary as stop signs at busy intersections.
