I just had my wisdom teeth removed on Friday, about four days ago. I am wondering when I could get back into some intense workouts; I feel so lazy not being able to work out.

Listen to your body and talk with your Orthodontist and/or Physician. Your body is recovering from trauma and needs time to get beyond that.

Some might be able to give you an idea of how long it took them to recover, but every body is different. Don't make yourself sick because of advice you get from blogs. Consult your medical professionals and suck it up if they tell you to wait a little more.

I had a skin cancer removed from my forearm last Monday. The doctor told me to lay off the gym for about a week, so that I would not put excess strain on the sutures. I went back to full sessions yesterday with no bad side effects. I would give it a week. Since the operation does not involve one of the muscles that you will be working, that should be more than enough time. When you start up, listen to your body. If the site begins to throb, either cut back, or stop.

I had my wisdom teeth extracted last month and the surgeon recommended waiting one week before engaging in strenuous exercise. Exactly as olden said, you don't want to put strain on the sutures if you tense up your jaw, and have them rupture or risk dislodging the clots from your sockets and getting dry socket. I waited 9 days before returning to the gym just to be on the safe side.
