Nice observation, but the end was lacking. I expected more than just a couple quit phrases about observing our action and and distracting our thoughts, after such a long detailed build up. And a bit of bad editing at 4:59 where it goes to blur then just comes right back.

We need to see his belly in order to pass final judgement.

His hair was perfect. Loved it.

Relatively attractive guy with god-tier colouring, NW0 hairline and ideal body frame/ muscle mass tells people not to be concerned with body image...

Hmmm. Interesting and informative but let's keep it real. That dude is not suffering from body image issues so it's hard to remotely take him seriously. If he was ugly would anyone even listen to him?

Kinda reminds me of how folks act on here with the hotlist function. Ha!

What was he talking about? I didn't notice for all the the perfect hair, face, eyes and suggestion of a perfect shoulder/chest outline. At least for him, he was totally successful with his body image issues in that he created a near perfect outward image and gets constant validation from the world. The real pain comes from those who have major body image issues, yet can't create an outward image that gets the worlds attention to distract them from their pain icon_smile.gif

There should be a separation in how much you love yourself and how much the world loves you. You just can't please everyone. Moreover, the ones who don't find you pretty, attractive, cool, etc are not necessarily shallow, bad, dumb people, so you'll be in a bad place if you try to project every kind of flaw onto people who don't sympathize with you.

Which is exactly what I see many counselors doing when they talk to someone who's dealing with body image issues. "The ones who don't what you are bad, evil, shallow" as some sort of compensation that not only fuels resentment but is also counter-adaptive.

There is your relationship with yourself and there is your relationship with the world. No one should need to look good to love himself, but the world wants you to look good depending on what you want from it. Don't complain the world wants you to look your best if you expect nothing less from others.

I guess this explains why there's way more gay guys than straight guys in gyms and fitness centers. Right?

Hmm still gotta work on my image! And you know what, in patience I'll get over time. I'm more career focused but I know that the shape I want will be acquired for my own satisfaction.

And that guy as no problem with image whatsoever!

Btw he looks like a porn star I have book marked!

I agree with you... But tis interesting what flares up inside me when I hear him talk. Whether he is genuine or not doesn't really matter to me. What matters is why when ever he spoke I was making all these remarks in my mind about why I shouldn't listen to him because.. of this or that. I kinda wrote him off as one of those LA gay boys..(he probably doesn't even live in L.A. - Pasadena?? lol) Which is totally not fair I am just projecting my own insecurities. But alas, there is truth in there. It's just beyond all the things I think I am not.

    LOL MY 1st thought.

Although, the dude seems to be a sincere pro.(?) not trying to sell us anything? We've all seen several of his other clips I think?

If he just wants to share his professional opinion, it's a great video. If he wants to advertise that he is a psychotherapist for LGBT, then this is a long and boring advertisement.

Come on now. Gay men and our physical self image. It's not even worth talking about. Since we are not physically handicapped, It's our own choice to be healthy and fit. Some just take it a bit further. Some just don't. That's....life! Straight, gay, bi, omni, or even asexual....it's the same throughout. The whole world and the super wealthy are putting money into studying of the fountain of youth. What does this have to do with gay men exclusively? Don't redirect a worldwide matter into an LGBT issue. No need for dramatization.
