I graduated from high school in 2009. I used to play football religiously! and i used to be insanely competitive when i play as well.

I have a team i meet up with a few times a month still... but i feel i am losing my passion a bit for it. We had a game just last Friday after i got off work. We were losing and i felt i didn't care as much as i would have back in high school.

In high school it was literally life or death situation (Or so it seemed) when playing the game! now i just see it as pure fun. I'm trying to work up my crazy passion for playing again though.

Did any of y'all play after high school? how many years? did you ever lose the passion for it?

I played baseball and tennis in HS. Outside of HS, though concurrent, most ppl I know played 2-person and 6-person v-ball at Kiwanis Park. We'd go to the smaller parks to shoot baskets and play pickup games.

Kept up tennis and v-ball in college while picking up softball (no baisball intramurals) and rappelling. In grad school it's much more difficult to keep up the team sports, but I play as much squash as possible. It's still easy to find b-ball pickup games.

No. I'm not as killer competitive as I was "when it mattered." Sports were very much more a part of my identity in HS. They played a part in finding my place, in fitting in. Now my competitiveness is channeled into academics, business, and other endeavors.

If you still want to play, check out:

The National Gay Flag Football League!
There's a local league in LA, too!
