Ugandan minister and supporter of Anti-Gay law given leading UN Role. Rather depressing isn't it?

    So, it seems Sam Kutesa, Ugandan government minister, has been appointed President of the UN General Assembly; a role in the gift of the African Union, whose turn it is to put up a name.

    You would rather have hoped that the AU would pick someone from anywhere but Uganda (or possibly Zimbabwe) but no, they had to pick someone prominently anti-gay. Sigh.
