We're Learning More From Stephen Colbert Than The Actual News, Study Says

"A recent study concluded that "The Colbert Report" did a better job of teaching people about campaign finance in the last presidential election than MSNBC, CNN, Fox News or broadcast evening news."--Katherine Fung of the Huffington Post

That's probably because campaign finance laws have become a joke. They are a mockery of democracy, because a few wealthy doners swing an election.

Its because our political system has become so corrupt and treacherous that comedy is the only way you can attempt to look at it without throwing your cell phone at the TV
You have an entire network lying and hawking for one party
You have the other so called News outlets afraid to call My body out on their hypocrisy
A Court system that is broken and bent on one ideology
And an economy that has become an absolute joke

That's because cable news is a joke.

You have FOX as an arm of the Republican Party.
You have MSNBC as an arm of the Democratic Party.
You have CNN and their Flight 370 fetish.
Then, you have some of the "lesser" cable channels, which tend to have a good story or two but don't really matter since The Big 3 (FOX, MSNBC, CNN) dominate them all.

Thus, if you're getting your news from the TV, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are like a breath of fresh air.

So, it could have been that most people didn't know about Maya Angelou because they'd ever opened a book of poetry? I'm stunned to learn so many get their information, first hand, from entertainment venues.

Why, if it wasn't for porn, I still wouldn't know about anal sex. And the only reason I don't know more about it than what little I do is because I've a very quick click reflex.

Where'da'ya suppose I got my refined appreciation for opera?
