    A recent egregious example.

Operation Choke Point - a project of the Justice Department and... you guessed it: The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), brainchild of Mme. Kommisar Elizabeth Warren.

Obama (during remarks regarding the appointment of Ron Cordray to the CFPB):

"Because of the work that’s been done at the CFPB over the past two years, today, mortgage lenders, student lenders, payday lenders, and credit reporting and debt collection agencies all face greater scrutiny. And if they don’t play by the rules, you now have somewhere to go to get some measure of justice. In fact, the CFPB has already addressed more than 175,000 complaints from every state."

Now Operation: Chokepoint - expands this "initiative" to include (basically) any type of business or industry, and even non-profit activities which the Obama Administration doesn't like:

    Guns
    Tobacco
    Pornography
    Pharmaceuticals
    Telemarketing
    Travel Associations
    Dating Services
    Coin Dealers
    Lotteries
    Clearinghouses for Government Grants
    MLMs
    Lifetime Memberships
    Racist Materials
    Home-based Charities

    and a whole lot more.

Curiously, abortion providers are untouched (so far).

ObamaJustice, via this initiative, is putting pressure on banks to reduce and even eliminate credit and financial services to such businesses and organizations.

What one believes about such organizations/businesses is one thing. Some have moral objections to certain activities. But there are already laws in place which regulate these businesses.

Operation: Chokepoint is a major effort to extend government reach into the economy - to plan, control, and direct economic activity according to the administration's wishes.

If this isn't fascism, what is it?

No bankers will go to prison, because the likes of Chris Dodd and Barney Frank (ironically of the Dodd-Frank Bill) would also have to do the perp walk. Not gonna happen.
