OK, so coming home from work tonight I stopped at the grocery store, got a small bag of groceries with a few items, but still it was $17.00 spent. When I got home I saw I had a package in the receiving room so I went there and when I got back to the lobby realized I left my groceries in the receiving room so I went back to retrieve them. Literally this was not more than 2 minutes later and they were gone, Unbelievable! And no one had turned them in to the Doorman. Someone stole my groceries!!

Hey my friend, there are some very desperate people that will steal anything at the drop of a dime. Sad but horribly true.

I don't think people generally steal groceries unless they themselves or someone they know is hungry, since you can't sell groceries on Craigslist or to a pawn shop. You may have made someones day, or given a child a meal they otherwise might not have had. Take comfort in that.

Judging from your profile, you seem to be somewhat financially stable, it not at least comfortable. A $17 bill of groceries is hardly something to be upset about. So you have to go buy more...big deal. Be happy that you can. The thieve(s) who stole them may not have that luxury.

I have to agree… People who steel food are in obvious need of.. food. A sad fact. icon_cry.gif

I prefer those who steel than copper.

Maybe someone saw it there and just picked them up thinking someone left them and won't be back soon. Groceries spoil. Who knows?

Have none of you played "Clue?" The doorman ate them.

People steal the weirdest things. I had a pickup truck and in the back, in plain sight was a Zenith computer terminal (look it up if you don't know what that is), which didn't work, and two video switching boxes for a TV because TVs back then typically only had 1 input, which my dad gave me because he couldn't figure out how to use them. On my way to the theater I bought 2 bags of kitty litter which were in the front of the truck. While I was watching the movie someone broke into my truck and stole the computer terminal and the video switching boxes; electronics should fetch some money right? But they also took the kitty litter which made me laugh.

Edit: there was a shell on the back of the truck. They broke into the cab to get into the back of the truck through the sliding window between the cab and back.

I don't know if I would classify as stealing more a manner of lost and found. Maybe it was an employee of where you live and you bought them lunch. Maybe they did turn them in to the doorman and he ate them like one had said icon_lol.gif. It was $17, just let it go, I am sure you won't do it again.

That's odd, groceries out of all things to be stolen. Some asshole stole my brother's bike in our garage (its a shared residential garage). For all I know it could have been my neighborhood...it was a nice road bike lol.

btw what neighborhood do you live in? If I stole your groceries, I'd want you to pin me down and place most of your body weight on me and whisper in my ear "you're a bad boy.." icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif
