So I just wanted some quick advice on a Graduation gift idea...So the 2 Brothers that I have been mentoring for 3+ years are finally Graduating and it has been a crazy/stressful/life changing experience. Im so Proud of them and it is kind of an emotional thing for me....2 kids that had the world and all the odds stacked against them are about to have their first major accomplishment and they are proving many people wrong who routed against them.

They are like my little brothers...my friends...and even at times like my children(even though im not old enough to be their Father)....

I wanted to get ideas on what I can get them for Graduation that has a personal touch to it...I know money in a card is what they look forward to most but I want mine to have more a meaningful/sentimental meaning to it. something personalized? Im not sure but I would love to hear your guys ideas because theirs a lot of creative minds here...

    Please Help... Thank you

What's their next steps? Are they going to college? Going to work? I think you should give them money + something related to what they're going to do next.

You know more about them than us, so we need a bit more info OP. Talking about High School grads or College? If college give them something towards what they're majoring in.

Bullion is always in good taste. It never goes out of style.

Kilobars are most welcome. 1oz bars are an acceptable starter.

You already know what they want and need.
If you want to personalize it, write a check.

You answered your own question. Put more money in the card than anyone else. icon_razz.gif

Yea I planned on writing something personal in card for each of them...Im just debating about the cash thing or finding a very unique personalized gift that ties into our whole mentor/mentee relationship...I don't know I still need more ideas?

Thanks for the responses so far

A $1,000 gift certificate to "Mr. S Leather" in San Francisco would highlight those special "ties" and "bonds" which you have developed.

Yes, silver is cheap right now and will go up. Why not silver bars? Check your local PM shop or Silvertowne.com. Silver is at about $20 an ounce and can get bars at a couple dollars premium over that a piece.

A quality shaving kit or watch can last a lifetime. My dad still has his leather shaving kit from his graduation, and his wedding gift from my mom, a Piaget.
