Our discussions here about boxers vs. briefs, and jocks at the gym, seem outdated now.

Under Armour's been doing it for years, it's hardly new. Lots of business guys will wear pantyhose under their suit pants to stay warm, bikers wear it to keep from chafing when they wear leather pants, etc etc.

"I understand how people can be taken aback by it, but men used to wear this legwear before women ever did," he said. "No one's gonna stop me from wearing what I need to wear."

Uhhhh the guy being interviewed sounds crazy. I'm not 100% sure why women wear them but I'm pretty sure there is no "need" for a guy to wear them. Damn cross dressers are taking over...

I see no great problem with them, if guys want to wear them, then they can, who am I to tell them what is and what is not appropriate.

Well for decades joggers in the cold North have been wearing women's pantyhose for warmth under their other clothes. But these "mantyhose" are built for men, with a proper pouch for a man's stuff. And it's not clear to me from the article whether men wear these as an outer garment at times.

What kind of bikers wear pantyhose? Motorcyclists under their leathers? Never heard of that. Leather riding pants are usually lined. You use jeans under leather biker chaps, except when I wear them with a thong or jock for a leather party. icon_wink.gif

As a businessman who works in cold climates, I far prefer my overcoat to stay warm versus mantyhose....

Pantyhose are a long-time favorite of ice hockey players, motocross riders, football players, and business execs. They work great. And....LOL...they be comfy...they be light....they be cheap...they prevent chafing... They've been around since the beginning of time (almost)...

For sports performance, sports comfort, durability, and sports compression, nothing beats Under Armour. I've had some of mine going on 8 years now. It's such a quality product.

Folks from the Northeast have seen a few guys in the pantyhose (they fit very nicely into a very tight skate) on a very cold rink, early in the morning.

    It's just clothes..LOL..

Sometimes, a good idea is a good idea, even when it's taboo.

When I started lifting in 1975, everyone told me I'd be musclebound, and slow, and uncoordinated. One thing is for certain...I'm still short. Sometimes, you walk to your own drummer, just because it makes sense.

I'm wearing one of these to the gym now.

Gives me that shapely waist, without having to do all those really hard core exercises with the Daikadi Body guys.

Many of the surf lifesavers here in Australia wear women's pantyhose under their speedos to prevent them being stung by jellyfish.

I am still bemused by the bank teller I saw in drag a couple of weeks ago at my local branch (it is in the heart of the gay community). I noticed that his fishnet stockings were in splendid shape.

I don't see much difference between "mantyhose" and long underwear. If I was playing hockey outside in sub-zero temperatures in a snowstorm, I would be wearing them to (playing hockey in a snowstorm is fun).

I have long underwear in black silk from Eddie Bauer that don't look much different from pantyhose. I do think they look a little bit silly, but I'm the only one who's gonna see them, and they're incredibly warm.

I don't what's the big deal if your man hood is tied into what you wear under your pants then you have much larger issues that needs to be address!

I think it's the name that's makes people cringe "MANTYHOSE" come on!
Too funny they are basical long underwear.

Those who don't like it hmmmm no one asking you to wear to them...so relax (SARCASM)icon_rolleyes.gif

ya know, you just made me realize that, when viewed differently, my black REI moisture-wicking performance long underwear that I don while snowboarding could look like black tights.

but (snort) it's for (spits loogie) sports, dude.

    judgement withdrawn.

    THAT'S just SO wrong!!!!

As for the mantyhose, makes sense for those that live in regions where it gets pretty damn cold. But like flex89 stated, these have been out for quite a while in different variations of uses.

Men's hose? Pshaw....that's sooooo seventeenth century. Unlike the codpiece, ya know, which is timeless. Bring back the codpiece!

Growing up in interior Alaska was cold (it is currently -45 degree Fahrenheit back home), but it had to be very very cold for me to wear long underwear. I found it extremely uncomfortable and chafey. I can actually see skin-tight hosiery being much more comfortable, if my Under Armour winter running gear is any indication.
