Anyone see the first episode? I think its great theres both a transgendered person and a gay man this season. Judging by the first episode I really think these cast members are going to be a help to the LGBT community.

Theres also a hot guy named Scott who looked really familiar, I then realized he was on a poster that had been on my wall in my old house, he was featured in Mens Health. Hes supernaturaly sexy.

I saw it, thought it was funny when the guy asked if the other guy was gay while singing on the guitar, sitting in a boat watching the sunset (and how they act like little girls the whole episode, too). Will be very interesting to see what happens when she comes out to the rest of the house.

    And Scott is hot, too.

i def got a gay vibe from scott. it'll be interesting to find out. i mean he was only in that episode for like 2 minutes.

the other 2 guys (the roommates) that were sitting in the boat singing. i def think that one or both of them could be. esp the guy from salt lake city. i got a kinda romantic vibe from that scene.

    haha no no no.

1.) he has a twinkle in his eye...gayface if you will
2.) he wanted to room with a girl because they're "neater"
3.) when those two other guys were talking about JD and Kate he said he wouldn't tell them anything personal about him because they have big mouths

i know those are vague reasons but there's something...it's only the first episode!

    maybe wishful thinkingicon_redface.gif

I hear they is an uber religious Mormon as well: Chet

Chet + 1 gay man + ! Transgendered women + One household = Major Cats fights

Major Cat fights = "Good" TV = Mucho Dinero for Real World and MTV

I am aged out of the MTV target audiance but I had to check out Real World after hearing about the gay house members.

Chet, the Mormon, is as gay as gay can be. I think he will come out later or at least have a slip up if he drinks.

I seem to remember a Mormon on a previous Real World that was kicked out of the church after appearing on the show. Female I think?

Ya sorry its probably wishful thinkin. I mean just because he is totaly hot, has awesome abs, looks great in tight underwear... doesn't mean.... He's gay?

out of mtv age range? my partner willingly watched it with me and he's 53.
anways. chet .... i don't know what to say... i was like wow...gay much? but i suppose he's straight...if he says so.

the thing i don't like about this season off the back is the fact that they do an aftershow immediately after the show...i feel like that takes away from the mystery: "like who left the house and was replaced"
doing things this way is going to take away from the ending

Oh wow... she was nice. Can't recall her name though. She was on the New Orleans Real World... the gay guy was Danny and was SO HOT! It was kinda funny though... when his boyfriend came by, they blurred his face out because his bf was in the military. Actually funny to watch, sad to think about.

New Orleans was back in 2001/2002 i think

What a surprise that would be if the whole house turned out to be gay... I could see the mormon dude coming out after hooking up w/ other dude w/ girlfriend (after being serenaded again...), then causing a huge cascade effect and everyone just confesses their attractions for everyone else and yeah... wishful thinking at its best lol

Yeah, I agree with the wishful thinking. But, one of the other guys, the guy who sat out with Iraq War vet and played some tunes, he seems to have a bit of ambisexual vibe going on.

The trans roommate will add some interesting discussions in the mix, though I wish JD (the gay roommate's name) had challenged more the one guy who called her an "it." And I'm not sure it was right of him to out her to the others, especially if he wasn't willing to help correct their ignorant views and pronouns. But, at least he's "got her back," as he said.

now that would be a show.
They all do seem to have a high probability of being gay.
The mormon is definitely gay, but he's using the I'm so comfortable in my own skin closet right now.
The Men's health guy seems pretty gay, breeders don't usually spend that much time in the gym.
It's possible the transgendered person will turn out to be a lesbian. Many of them change their orientation after they have "the operation"
The black chick? all chicks are bi
The soldier? well, him and the mormon did hit off pretty well singing to one another in that boat watching the sunset.

no wishful thinking here, they are all definitely fags.

I also caught a gay vibe from Scott. But he is very metro-sexual....and very good looking. The gay guy, cant remember his name is very hot as well. I will give this season a shot and see how it goes.

You're thinking of Julie from the New Orleans season, which also featured the very hot and masculine gay guy Danny with the military boyfriend.

Julie was also a student at Brigham Young University and was expelled after the show.

Haha wow. icon_lol.gif A colleague of mine's wife has worked for MTV for years in editing. Hate to break it to you but 99% of the Real World is scripted, oh and there's no tooth fairy or easter bunny either. Sorry for the wake up call, but you're old enough to know the truth.

Scripted is probably the wrong word for it. A friend of mine was on season 2 in Venice Beach (country boy John Brennan). He said the producers didn't tell them what to say but they would always create situations that were sure to cause friction, sexual tension, etc.

He said it also seemed like they were determined to present a certain story, and would edit things to present that story even if it was entirely out of context and there was no such story.

Interesting to hear the behind the scenes info from someone who was a cast member.

I worked on several seasons of "The Real World" and I can say with unwavering conviction that it is not scripted at all. Nothing is manufactured, the producers don't create any situations. It really is the purest reality show out there. Global, I've never met a single cast member who has claimed anything similar to what John Brennan seems to be claiming. It's simply not true.

I normally can't stand Real World, because its Real boring, and corny. But I had to watch because I kinda know Ryan, and he's kinda funny, but as for everyone else, don't care for em, and the only dude on that show who seems/looks mad gay, is that Mormon dude, and he's annoying.

You can't be serious. Several cast members have gone on the record saying they objected to the way producers manipulated the situation in the house and manipulated storylines in editing. Irene from Seattle and Irene from Venice have said that was the real reason they left the house during production.

The show's producer and co-creator, Jonathan Murray, has admitted to manipulating situations. He's admitted to planting a coffee table book with nude images of one of the cast members to stir up trouble.

Maybe your position with the show didn't offer you an insight into these goings on. It's also possible that things you would consider innocuous others would consider unethical and manipulative.

ok kids-- they are paid and sign agreements- tv is about ratings and money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! those who broke contract were made to leave. Members who get physical in their altercations are made to leave after their exit interview with MTV lawyers. They know from the get go there will be alot of fake drama and acting. They call em the "cast" of the real world for a reason. MTV isn't stupid. I guess you think all the MTV shows are real?? The cast members sign contracts it's all in their disclosure agreement. Inner you must get hypnotized alot in Vegas too!
