Hi folks ! How are you ?

My friend and I are traveling alongside the pacific from Vancouver to Las Vegas for two weeks at the end of July. I would like to know if there are some things that we shouldn't miss on our way.
We'll rent a car and just enjoy the beaches, towns and parks of the coast. We're not necessarily common tourists, we just want to enjoy our time, so no museum or things like that. But if you know some good places to party, or to learn how to surf, or any other fun things !

    Here is our itinerary :

Three nights between Portland and San Francisco, like Newport, Brookings and fort braggs.
Two nights between SF and LA, like Monterey and Santa Barbara.
    Las Vegas
    Grand Canyon

    The end !

Hello. If you like nature, then between Portland and SF, be sure to check out Redwood National and State Parks, and the beautifully desolate Lost Coast. If you like wine, then stop by Sonoma or Napa for a night before heading to SF. Plenty of partying in SF, which I am sure you will have no problem discovering. BTW, save the surfing for Southern Cal, as the ocean is both rough and freezing in Northern Cal. Have a great road trip!

Monterey is a crowded mess during summer, try some real towns like Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Cambria or Cayucos

Santa Barbara is meh unless you just want to shop
