The Rev. Bill Richardson was an Episcopal priest, a straight cisgender husband and father, who defied his bishop and offered his church as a venue for the victims, which included a Metropolitan Community Church minister and his partner, to hold a funeral.
Missing from this list is the Brook Cafe in Westport, Ct., one of the longest-operating gay bars in the country. It closed a few years ago and subsequently collapsed during one of our giant snowstorms.
