"An American Muslim born extremist is on the run in the United States after authorities believe he murdered two gay men in Seattle and robbed a coffee shop in New Jersey.

Authorities are unaware of 30-year-old Ali Muhammad Brown’s current location but say he underwent training with a radical Islamist group in California three months ago.

Police say Brown may have targeted one of his victims, Ahmed Said, as he was a gay man with a Muslim sounding name.

Said had spent the evening with fellow murder victim Dwone Anderson-Young drinking at Seattle gay bar R Place before planning to meet up with Brown.

Police believe Brown used a gay dating smart phone app to arrange to meet with Said and are treating the murders as a hate crime motivated by religious prejudice.

They got into Said’s car and drove to Anderson-Young’s home in Seattle’s Leschi neighborhood where Brown shot both men dead less than 17 minutes after leaving the bar."

You can put "deleting app soon..." on your profile just like all the other gays "...for fear of murder"

And this is yet another reason why gay dudes should try to socialize IRL rather than online if they want to find a boyfriend.

Yes, this is terrible, but one also needs to put risks into perspective. A random killing like this wouldn't have received the widespread notice in times past which the internet age allows either. The massive dissemination of information by the internet distorts the degree of the risk. One is much more likely to die in a car crash than be murdered by a terrorist on Grindr.

don't even think it makes a difference. there's people out there that will run off with whoever upon JUST meeting them the moment their dick gets excited. it's not just gay men with that random stranger shit. straight men do the same crazy shit too with women.

...and women do the same thing with men.

So much so that back in the hey-days a movie was made about it. Big hit.

Sounds like they're trying to slyly rekindle the Islamophobia that so many have forgotten about, and for good reason. The Jihadists are still among us and more widespread than we would like to think.

The murders are sad but preventable. If the authorities knew about an organized radical Islamist group, they should have dismantled it. In this case, the authorities who knew about that group are just as much at fault as the murderer, and should be charged as an accomplice for dereliction of duty.

How do authority know the guy was using grindr, unless they use grindr themselves to undercover. Lol

Gay Bashing has been going on for decades. Whether you pick up a guy at a bar you don't know or online or an app! I make hookups few and far between. I'd rather meet 1st in public place, because you just don't know who's waiting behind another door.

That's a good question, but my best guess would be that they searched the victims' phone records.

I blame Grindr for going viral. Now every homophobic str8 guy knows where we do our biz. Plus, the guy is probably gay.
