LGBTQ people, they insist, are the true oppressors, and conservative Christians an embattled, discriminated-against minority.

Oh my Gawd, yes! Just the other day on fb, for example:

Original Post: Why is it that those who speak loudest about tolerance are the first to attack religion? How can individuals who view themselves as enlightened not see the absurdity of their actions? The fact is, liberals are the most intolerant people we encounter. Anyone disagreeing with their "superior" view of the world is somehow regarded as beneath them, inferior and lacking the intelligence to see things on a level playing field. They share their "morally sound" opinions with all of us all the while attacking people's religious beliefs. Well, guess what? I'm not going to criticize you for what you believe or tell you that I'm a better person because of what I believe. I'll say an extra prayer for you. Just leave my religion alone 22 Likes

My Response: If religion would leave people alone... 2 Likes

3rd Response: Well said 1 Like

OP: And who exactly is religion bothering? If you'd like to fret about religion "leaving people alone," perhaps liberals could direct their venom toward the Muslim community.

1st Responder: I thought 2nd Responder (me) was being sarcastic. I don't remember seeing religion bother anyone who wasn't looking to be offended.

My Response: I wasn't being sarcastic. When California moved to legalize same sex marriage, it was religion that said no you can't. Same-sex marriage doesn't obligate a religion to recognize the legal merits of a same-sex marriage any more than a heterosexual marriage officiated by a Justice of the Peace. And they don't on either account. But it's religion that seeks to ban one outright and not the other.

OP: It was also the citizens that said no you can't. They voted on it if I recall correctly. But again, liberals direct their disdain at the Christians in particular. You don't have to agree with our stance but we don't have to agree with yours either. That's the rub with liberal logic. They attack anyone who may disagree with them then turn around and tell me how wrong I am on everything and how I need to be tolerant. 5 Likes

4th Response: "If religions would leave people alone..." and "religion that seeks to ban"? PEOPLE act, maybe because of religious convictions, but never has my Church/religion directed me to act on any of the aforementioned matters. Mr. T 1 Like

My Response: Well there are religious organizations that fund and act all the same (all the while tax exempt)

My Response: But OP, the supreme law of the land is the Constitution, not the fluctuating majority opinion. You should know that... That's why laws get struct down, even laws with majority approval.

My Response: And I didn't make any attack on here...

My Response: And there are Jewish and Christian religions that recognize same sex marriage, but those couples don't get legal protections because of the actions of other religions.

5th Response: Omg seriously? Lol...this is such a typical liberal response pahaha

    My Response: *shrugs*

"Your heart begins to sink as you realize that you’re going to be forced to return to work with a gigantic advertisement on your forehead that essentially says “Interested in knowing more about Catholicism? Ask me!”
