We have some mighty fine competitors to choose from, so this could be quite the battle. Please nominate your candidate of choice and why you think he or she should hold this lofty title.

I personally would like to kick this off with my own nomination of Bob Frey. Mr. Frey is running for the Republican House and he plans on winning with his anti-sodomy campaign. You see Bob claims that when sperm is injected into the anus of another man, the sperm eats the inside of the body and creates AIDS. Republican science is fun ain't it?

    Similar, but dumber.

And by the way, you didn't nominate anyone.

OK, back home now. I'll have to think about it. There are so many different flavors of Republican dumb. And no flavor of Republican smart. At this present time, no such thing as a smart Republican officeholder exists - they're all dumb.

So how to differentiate one from another? We need some criteria, some rules here. Perhaps the OP will provide some guidelines & advice.

Is it genetically dumb? Deliberately dumb? (To appeal to their base) Bigoted dumb? Pure hatred dumb? Taught dumb? Paid to be dumb? Religiously dumb? So many ways that Republicans are dumb. This will take some thinking, don't wanna slight anyone, from a very close field...

    Dumbest?

    Who else??

What is so alarming is those in the Republican/Tea Party refuse to rebuke her while rolling their eyes at her out of touch and alarming comments.

    Typical Republican ignorance.....

More like the typical Republican "Party First, People Second" attitude. Bachmann is another vote that Republicans can reliably count upon in the House, no matter how looney she is, and that's the only standard they apply.

Voting for the dumbest Republican would imply that some of them are smarter than others, so I'll hold out on voting for now.

May I add another? How about Florida's own brilliant and gifted sage....Marco Rubio.

Guys, we may define stupid Republicans for the senseless things they do, their narrow-minded beliefs or for their fear of us normal people, but when it comes to limited brain capacity---Marco wins hands down.

I moved to US a year back and the anti-science positions among right wing fundamentalists is very worrying. America needs more science, not less science.

As for dumbest republican, it is a three way tie between Rick Santorum, Sarah Palin, and Michelle Bachmann.

What does HIV status have to do with being a Democrat? Because most gay men (with any sense) would never vote Republican; that's why. I know that's complicated for you to figure out, but there's your answer.

And if slipping up and saying 57 instead of 47 is the stupidest thing you can hold against the Democratic party, that's pretty lame. icon_lol.gif

I think I heard separation of church and state somewhere in that fast talking speech? Good thing is, since the age of the internet technology, free thinking people don't have to rely on people like him anymore for, "truth" and guidance. Before the internet, we only had a set of encyclopedia and these so called faith "leaders" that would tell the people their own personal belief systems, the "evil technology", the internet, changed everything for these control freaks, "education" is another evil, because, with it, people become free-er and can think for themselves. That is true liberty, not the crap these people or anyone in media feed us, hard to believe but there are people in this world that still have never used the internet or a computer for that matter. There is something weird about Michelle Bachman in that she`s simultaneously clever and dumb; clever enough to be elected and taken seriously by many Americans; and yet the things she says.....

Folks there is always Sarah Palin who claims to see Russia from her house in rinky dink Wasilla between Anchorage and Fairbanks. Never mind that there are smoky, active volcanic mountains to the west of her place she can still see Russia from her houseicon_lol.gif

"Ongoing reports of an outbreak of drug resistant bacteria causing painful skin infections are surfacing both here and in San Francisco and have been noted as especially virulent in gay male communities...Some doctors use a new antibiotic called Zyvox, although with a single course costing $1,500, they often have trouble persuading insurers to pay for it."

She never said she could see Russia from her house. That was in a SNL skit with Tina Fey.icon_rolleyes.gif Let's separate fact from fiction, and let's not rely on SNL for news.

There's a small island on Alaska, Little Diomede, which is two miles away from Alaska, and when you're on that island you can see Big Diomede, which is a Russian island.

    QUOTE.jpg

This statement is a rewording of a passage from page 261 of The Audacity of Hope, in which Obama spoke of the importance of not allowing inflamed public opinion to result in innocent members of immigrant groups being stripped of their rights, denied their due as American citizens, or placed into confinement, as was done with Japanese-Americans during World War II. The original contains no specific mention of "Muslims":
In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.

Come on dude....you're not serious are you? "Sperm" does not create this disease; it's INFECTED bodily fluids that cause the infection.
