Are 20-somethings hotter today or is it just my perception?

now that i think about it there are a lot of fatties out there... so i'm probably totally wrong... but when i was in my 20s... (the 90s) 20 somethings were, in my memory at least and my perception at the time, nothing special. but holy shit today they all seem to be so fucking cute. in shape. adorable.

i have a thing for nerds so maybe that's it.

or are guys today just more aware of health and fitness?

Nah, it's just that there are a few baby boomers that hate it when people glorify young fellas. icon_lol.gif

Wow, that sucks man. I'm glad you're better.

There's no question I'm in MUCH better shape than I was in the 90's...mostly due to increased knowledge of nutrition and fitness. As for guys in their 20's, there have always been really ripped guys and really un-ripped guys. The ratio seems to be about the same to me, though the un-ripped ones vary more in size now (some are much larger/obese).

Of COURSE not. Goodness, we're a veritable convent of Carmelite nuns, our sense of sorority is so pervasive.

How sweet it is, and how pleasant, where (brothers/sisters) dwell in unity, the Good Book tells us. Verily I say unto thee, that here thou hast found a dwelling place and a hearth where you might rest from all your labors, and warm your fears against the terrors of the night.

(OK, so I had a second martini... it's Friday).

Yep, and if you watch carefully, you'll notice it's almost always the ones who didn't stay in shape as they aged, and can no longer attract the younger guys. Jealousy, maybe? icon_wink.gif

The whole 'Seflie trend' is responsible for many of this.

Actually it's the other way around. It's the attractive people who started the selfie trend. Then other people got more motivated to get in shape to look better in selfies.

I think you're partly correct. The guys (of all ages) who choose to workout now have better information and diet options available, so yes, if they go the fitness route, they tend to look better than they used to. However, people are also fatter than ever, so it's a double edged sword.

It sure isn't. People "get mean" on this site, as they do in every single situation in life, for one reason only: Ego. And that has nothing to do with age.

Yeah, ok, but "ego" is pretty much at the heart of both of those "states", right?

I don't think there is one scrap of scientific evidence that suggests the way your body "looks" (6'2, 190, 5% body fat), for example, is in ANY way indicative of.... how long you might live?

+1 I think they are hotter today then when I was their age. It's wonderful, more hot guys to admire. I think it's probably the guys who have tried to keep in shape and see the writing on the wall and know that their glory days are close to being over that are jealous. Not us older guys, we know our time has passed. At least I do. I'm still breathing tho, so I ain't gonna stop looking. icon_biggrin.gif

what do you mean? i don't remember making a correlation between looks and life expectancy.
