I had my bmi checked on Friday when I was visiting my doctor because I've been ill and lost a fair bit of weight and it turns out I am a whole 2.5 inches shorter than I always assumed I was. Has that happened to anyone else? Like when I'm stood up next to a tall person I still feel quite tall or roughly the same height but now obviously I know I'm not. Do men generally over estimate their height?

Seriously,no idea,it's not something that comes up in conversation normally. I know my height (unless I've shrunk with age) , it used to be on my (old style UK) passport , so I got friends to double check it for my application.

Ah maybe I went wrong by guestimating my height then. I always thought I was about 5'9/10 and I only based that on the fact I'm taller than one of my friends who is 5'6 and shorter than another friend who is 6 foot lol.

You get shorter as you get older, too.
