    How's it going everybody?

After months and months of trying to do sound design for concerts. I finally got a gig! doing sound at the Viejas Arena in San Diego for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers!!

I'll be working with a team so it's not so scary icon_lol.gif even though the arena holds quite a few people...

The best part is i get to see Tom live! I've been a fan of his since i was a youngin. And my dad played his songs when he was the drummer in a local bandicon_smile.gif

I'm very excited... but also nervous as hell. Will any RJers being attending the show? if so, some say hi!

And for the fellow sound designers on the site. Have you ever done work for a live concert before? and any pointers? icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks man!icon_biggrin.gif same here as mentioned. The fact my dad used to play his songs makes this even more special icon_cool.gif it feels full circle or something cheesy like that icon_razz.gif

Love Campbell on this! even though I'm not a big fan of Breakdown. That song and American Girl are beyond overplayed on classic rock radio. And i just never thought they were great. Free Fallin, The Waiting, Runnin Down A Dream, Even The Losers, and Mary Jane's Last Dance etc. Still hypnotize me even though they've been overplayed to death as well.

Sounding lead for the board! And also making sure speakers are at correct levels and tones.

Awesome, congratulations. Been a fan since Damn the Torpedoes. My last band covered "American Girl" too, my late father-in-law was awesome on the solo.

Also like when my boy Brian Fallon covers it, although Spotify has a better version of it than this:
