Lol you're bad.... well OP, I live in southern cali here. You either marry a US citizen, a native SoCal guy or work at your job and transfer here legally. Lol, SoCal area has high unemployment rate and tons of illegal immigrants. Or if you're rich you can buy land, homes here then the INS will let you stay. Since there are money problems and people entering the US illegally, the INS becomes very strict now. Funny now and then, I keep seeing threads of guys who want to move here.

    ^^

I guess that equalizes the sub standard pay scales??

I wouldn't know though - free housing looks abysmal and depressing... but, point of reference I suppose xD

Relative to NAFTA, or British Commonwealth nations, Algerians don't have as easy a path to immigrate to the U.S. without either the sponsorship of a U.S. company (via employment) or a U.S. citizen (via marriage). U.S. "Green Card" (Permanent Resident with path to citizenship) lotteries are not a sure bet.

I wish you the best in your quest to find a way to live in the United States, and specifically Southern California.

The U.S. Refugee Assistance Program might be easier than the employment route if you qualify.

Based on this link to the U.S. Refugee Assistance Program FAQ

Under which category would you qualify?

I feel for the guys who live in countries where they can't be themselves and hope you somehow manage to find a way out and be happy wherever that may be.

Is this a designation recognized by the United Nations High Commision for Refugees for your nation?

If so, then that passes the first qualification for the U.S. Refugee Assistance Program.

Discrimination is not in itself grounds for asylum in the USA. You would have to be "persecuted" or have a reasonable fear of persecution to qualify for asylum. Worth investigating if it applies to you. Probably would best fit a gay man from Uganda or Iran, or some other country where gays are being killed or imprisoned.. If you entered into a valid marriage with a US citizen, you could apply for residency - still takes a long time.
