Those who want to ruin their bodies with excessive inkings is asking for trouble.

It is a waste of money too get a tattoo and you just basically look like a fad, because you are jumping on the bandwagon to look cool. A bit like smoking, really.

Look, my ancestors were covering their bodies with tattoos for thousands of years.
So tattoos might be a tradition for some people. It's not like western people invented it few years ago.

∆ Your ignorance is astonishing. First of all, most people who get tattoos never regret them because they got them for the right reasons (including myself.) Number two, just because something is a "fad" to others doesn't mean everyone who participates in that particular thing is a part of the fad. icon_confused.gif

Our ancestors used to engage in pederasty.
Our ancestors used to believe in slavery.
Our ancestors used to believe in Satanic origins of the Bubonic plague.

    Get real.
Fuck you and I don't care that your ancestors used to do this and this. This is now and is the 21st century. You are fucking wasting money.

Why do you care? If you don't like tattoos, don't get a tattoo. It's that easy.

But let those, who want to get one and/or have one, have it.

Exchange "tattoo" with "gay marriage" and it's like talking to homophobics.

Really. I am troll because I am arguing that people are wasting money on tattoos. THEN YOU REGRET IT because we have laser technology and you want to get rid of it.

How can you deny this fact?

How can you deny that tattoo removal has gone up?

    FACT.

That's not the only reason you're a troll. And being a sock doesn't help your cause much, either...icon_idea.gif

I would never get a tattoo on myself yet I'll respect those who want a tattoo. I've even told my younger friends who were interested to get one to think carefully but in the end it's up to them.

Why judge them when they're not harming anyone?

I have a lot of friends who have them, in various amounts. I've never wanted one though, because one friend had one on his arm with the name & face of someone who became his ex. He regretted having it done, and his present b.f. didn't appreciate seeing it very much either! I know he was searching for a place to have it removed. For me, I just never had anything I really wanted to say or display - especially permanently. What I might have wanted to say one year, would probably not be what I wanted to say a few years down the road.

I have a tattoo on my right deltoid.
    I've had it since 1999.
I have enjoyed it and feel like I have received moar than my money's worth on the adornment.
I have yet to regret it.

My young employee had seven distinct tats on his left arm.
He told me that each one represented a significant occasion in his young life. So of course I asked for the story.

The first one he got after his FIRST TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD.
The second one came after his SECOND TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD.

And on his story goes. Each one commemorated a trip to Disney World!

Tattoos, like the full beard now, are a way for otherwise basic bitches to look cool and/or interesting. They (tatts) used to be symbols of something edgy, alternative, or counter-culture - now it's just vacuous decoration. I like tattoos but on people whose personality goes with it and not these lame guys you see getting them now.

Mine is pretty sharp, clear, well defined, and not "lavado" even after 15 years.

There isn't really anything wrong with a few small tattoos, but beyond that they can create problems which are best avoided. Having large conspicuous tattoos that cannot easily be covered up limits employment opportunities. And, some are just ridiculous and would even make it impossible to live a normal life. For example, twice in the supermarket, I saw a guy whose face was completely covered with tattoos. It was to the extent that it would have been just about impossible to determine his facial expression. One wonders how he could have held a job and supported himself.

I never liked tats. My opinion I think they're gross. The human body is art, adding tats to me looks like graffiti. Once you get in your 60s, they become distorted & shriveled up.

I'm sorry, but if the person enjoys their tattoo, it's not a waste of money. And the tattoo removal business has gone up because more people have tattoos now, which means there will be a corresponding increase in the number of people who made stupid decisions on their tattoo design. Another reason for this increase is that the removal process has advanced light years from a few years ago. It used to be unheard of to have a tattoo removed but now it's common place. Any other stupid comments you'd like to make?

The mention of tattoo regret and removal always makes me think of this SNL commercial featuring Amy Poehler.
