My friends already know this status............. IE SINGLE........ I have my fb on Lock-down though so FB Does not know where I live where I went to college or school, where Im employed and if you don't know me you cant see but the current " profile picture and cover". You cant search for me or Google me and I don't even use my last name........IE I have friends( whom I'm really friends with) and everyone else gets Zero stalker fodder love. icon_cool.gif

Because giving FB too much info is creepy.

fb, twitter and the rest all love "monetizing" you, selling your data and email addresses to everyone. that goes for under age kids too, who have no legal ability to understand the consent they grant when signing up,

so yeah, the rational response is to either avoid fb completely or, if its a must to stay in contact with family abroad, remove all identifying data (school, work, etc)

wise up and read the swindle writ large upon the wall (street)

Ahhh no big worries- Facebook will soon enough simply be a chip implanted into your brain reading all your thoughts that you do NOT want posted. In order to monetize the site they will simply make you pay a courtesy service fee, recurring of course, to keep from whatever you do NOT wish to be posted showing up on their site. I'd worry about being late with my payment, that's for sure LOLZ. It's a brave new world.

This doesn't surprise me. Social media is a tool for invading 'privacy' or better yet, what little privacy is left nowadays. I deleted my Facebook months ago, any friends I need to keep in contact with, I'll do that on a personal level.

I'm curious as to how you locked down profile picture and cover photo. How did you do this? Thanks!

GAMRican, you can now pick to make profile photos and cover photos to be only seen by " friends" so while the 1 profile and cover photo you currently have up are " public" you can make the rest in the respective folders " only seen by friends" etc. I even lessen this issue further by having cover photos be Non personal pictures, ie my last one was just a picture of Comerica Park.
