Well, you asked if you could have one "ever", so maybe in the year 2500, yeah you can icon_biggrin.gif

As of now, I don't think the majority of Americans is ready for that. People in the larger cities (NY, SF, etc etc etc) are open-minded, I think they would even vote for a gay president if he proves to be competent enough.
But people from rural areas are far away from this attitude.

I'm not an American, so I can't properly judge that, but at least this is my impression.

That's because Belgium is more advanced and confident in their national mindset that sexual orientation does not necessarily preclude leadership. In fact, diversity in a leader's psychosocial profile may enable innovative approaches to old problems.

The United States is only 238 years old.

The only way I see it happening in my lifetime is that someone like Cory Booker is elected and comes out (or is pushed out) once in office. (I don't particularly believe the rumors he is gay, but one never knows.)

Still, that has more the makings of a Lifetime movie than real life, lol.

We had one already - James Buchanan. Check his relationship with Rufus King...But I think bi before gay into the future. And Cory won't be President. His egotism is just too prevalent for anything beyond where he is now.
