Something has clicked mentally, not 100% sure what it is but now I've got the sudden motivation and urge to get fit and workout.

This is a new thing to me because I've always wanted to do this but would allow things (read: excuses) get in the way and halt my motivation or stop it completely.

Now, I am at the point that I'm quite frankly sick and tired of being thin and out of shape. I've recently started taking up working out, grant it at odd hours of the night (or morning.. like 2am)

Before I used to find working out to be boring, a chore, and otherwise unappealing as I am an intellectual. Now as I am working out at home with what I can, I am smiling and super energetic and excited to get in shape.

Hell I was grinning like a fiend while I was envisioning what my body would look like and how awesome I'll feel once I get in shape.

I don't know what happened but something has changed and I like it! icon_smile.gif

I'd like to ask, as I've done before but did so flippantly, now that I've the motivation, drive, and desire; some tips for home workouts.

I am not confident enough to be hitting a gym so I have a yoga-mat that I workout on and a 1-gallon jug of water I use as a weight.

The workout routines listed on this site are more focused towards machines and devices one can find at a gym. I'm interested in what can one do at home while building the confidence to enter a gym.

Major Help: I'll be the first to admit I have little to no upper body strength as far as the chest goes. I cannot do a push-up to save my life (arms shake like crazy and give out before I can come back up again)

I don't like this, any exercises that can help build some strength to get me to the point that I can do a push-up completely and move onto doing sets of them?

I'll be more active on this site now that I've got the urge and motivation to do so!

Positive feedback and support will do wonders if you are inclined to do so! icon_smile.gif
