At least, its been brought out in the open, other than discussions here on RJ, Buzzfeed does run a lot of liberal stories, maybe its our own RJ that got this news feed attention on this subject matter, they are picking up some of the same guy photos we have posted on RJ icon_razz.gif

One problem with this no-shave position is that it relies heavily on the argument for "natural". Well, letting a man's beard grow without trimming, or the hair on his head, is also "natural". How come we shave or trim those, but the pubes are off-limits? Should we be shaggy cave men? How about our finger and toe nails? Can we trim those?

I notice men in most porn are very trimmed down there, even shaved, more so than I myself would do. It seems most lovers, whether man or woman, prefer some restraint with pubic hair on their guy.

And the example throughout Nature is for males to try to visually appeal to their mates, not to themselves, or to arbitrary human philosophies. If my husband wants my pubes under control, that's all the guidance & direction I need.

When it comes to pubes, I find hairy pubes sexier icon_redface.gif The same with armpits.

With the current popularity of the hipster beard, it doesn't surprise me that a mainstream news page also picked up men's body hair, they go with the times. Trimming is ok, some are hairier down there than others, I think they pointed that out, but its the complete (NoNo) body builder shave experience that leaves stubble (comes back itchy and causes red bumps), or no hair at all, especially pubic.

Women seem to also dislike the complete shaved look, if you read some of their comments, is too when men are too hairy all over. So the ideal manscape comes to those men who are fortunate not to have a lot of hair or hair all in the right places, just enough to look appealing to the same or opposite sex

Maybe Buzzfeed's next in the series can be:

    ArtDeco,

I agree with your comments about the unsoundness of the "natural" argument. Should we let our nose hairs and ear hairs grow, as well? (Sorry for bringing that up, but let's get it all out in the open.)

But I think the manscaping phenomenon may soon be over for gay men. After all, fashion trends often start with gay men and eventually become accepted by straight men. I noticed recently that Gillette is advertising a razor for men to use on their chests and other areas of the body, so it's just a matter of time until we will have to reject that "straight" look.

Is this the mens razor designed taken from the womens razor Venus?

It depends. I think moderation is key. Don't like a jungle but completely shaved only looks right on some guys. Brazilian or waxed pubes looks feminine.

    +1

Plus there's the element of functionality, not just appearance.

Depending on your guy, he may not be eager to suck a hairy dick, or furry balls. I know I'm not, I actually gag.

So whadda yah want? A good blowjob, or your own idea of appearance? Appearance never got me off.

It depends on the guy. I would not say that every guy looks automatically hotter with chest hair. Some grow a really really hot fur and others just grow a really pathetic one that even makes them looks less attractive. Plus, it also depends on your body shape etc etc.

As for pubic hair. Yes, grow it. Don't shave or you'll look like a prepubescent boy. Not sexy at aaaaall.

Actually I did have a ex-BF who decided to go "native" after having trimmed & shaved his pubes for years. He once returned from an extended stay in NYC, and we got together for a romp.

I was shocked to see the hair on his balls was long enough to braid - I didn't know pubes could grow that long. His dick was hairy, too. I tried to give him my usual oral attention, but I was gagging. I managed to give him a single blowjob and omitted sucking his balls.

I asked him why he did that. He said he wanted to be natural, and it was popular among some guys in New York. I told him I preferred him his old way, with shaved balls & shaft and trimmed bush, he might get better action that way. Which had looked quite natural, like some guys are normally, not too short and not reshaped. But neither was it suffocatingly overgrown for another guy going down there.

And that's how I keep myself - discretely trimmed to be natural looking in the sauna, but not a choking mouthful for my husband. I think that's a reasonable compromise.

excuse me, no. no one is here for the 1970s shag carpet look. you don't have to shave your body hair/pubes completely off, but please do trim and keep it maintained.

Absolutely every pro-body hair article I've ever seen features ONLY built men and ripped twinks, all (with the exception of the most muscular examples) suspiciously devoid of shoulder, back and - in the nude examples - "upper shaft" hair, and zero, count 'em, zero fatties (except in jest). If they ever show an "average" body it's to show how body hair, in those cases, hides flaws and creates the illusion of muscularity.
