Notoriously narsist, large portions living in small pockets of society 'gay ghetto's' of whom live their lives in a community that supports even the wackiest ideas. Many of those outside the ghettos follow the culture that develops from the 'ghettos' & this leads loss of ability to identify when 'gay culture' is becoming problematic

Is particularly dreadful when the bloom of youth has faded and they find their dance cards no longer full...

...and "tricking" is relegated to Halloween. Tennessee knew what he was talking about but he always had Frank.

There are stupid people of all shapes, sizes and sexuality. Just don't associate with them.

Hey mate guessing your describing your life are you as mine is still overflowing. I know replies to this are going to be filled with people who fit my description I'm talking about who cannot think of a comeback & just post 'school yard' name calling.

I choose to interpret your reply as trying to have a sense of humour and I'll try to make the next post about how hot the next RJ profile is so the school girls can see me play nice.

Kind of hard to read because of the lack of punctuation, but the substance is accurate.

Fortunately this world is big enough for all kinds of people to share and be in it! just be thankful you have enough room to grow outside that bubble! besides at some point in our lives we all have lived in it. Think of it as a temporary shield to help us travel. Some people don't mind living a superficial life, so they keep traveling light within that bubble. There are others who grow in knowledge and wisdom, and so their minds and soul make them heavy, enabling to burst out of it, they soon realize that life is indeed three dimensional. Being part of a community is more then what one perceive, see, or feel!!

This all about me mentality has a lot more to do with society in general as opposed to being specifically within the gay community (whatever that means). Just look at the onslaught of instagram, face book and other such social media outlets which perpetuate this

It certainly isn't English grammar and punctuation.

One thing's for sure.... not all Gay Ghetto's are the same!
My area in Dallas was once the gayest blocks in town... now I have straight folks all around me with gay folks mixed in. The neighborhood is not only highly cleaned up, but property values range from 275K -800 K on the same 2 block area as me.
20 years ago when I bought here, I had the nicest property on the block.
Now it's just one of the many nice ones. There's been threads here before that discuss the death of the old gay ghettos. Trust me, this is not a bad thing!

I'm grateful that my husband and I get to live out in the real world freely and safely out in the burbs of Melbourne. But then Melbourne is also the worlds most livable city, and this is one of the reasons why.

I won't lie, sometimes I feel that I could be that way but when I find myself doing that, I try to keep a level head and know that the world DOES NOT revolve around me.

I suppose this is because when I was younger, I tried to please people, even if it meant sacrificing my own beliefs to a certain extend. But I want to keep to my principles and stand my ground.

So whenever anyone asks for help, advice, or just wants to talk, I always lend an ear as I genuinely do like to learn about others and what they go through in life. icon_smile.gif

narcissist or narcissistic (from Narcissus, a youth of legend who suffered from a narcissistic personality disorder)

    ghettos (plural, not possessive)

"of whom live their lives in a community" (a bit awkward, rewrite)

But good post. Yes, the wackiest of ideas - that Chastity Bono is a man, for instance. Seriously, the press refers to her as "him, "he," "Mr. Bono," etc.

Yeah, there are times in the gay village where I look at half of the queens in the room and wonder if there is anything going on upstairs beside "empowering" one-liners from rupaul or kesha.
