About a month ago I started going to the gym regularly and I've seen pretty good results so far -- they weight I can lift is steadily increasing. But I'm about 35 lbs. of muscle short of where I would like to be. Fortunately, I was already pretty lean because I like to do a lot of running. I recently dated a guy three times who is about my height (5' 10.5') but 185 lbs., whereas I am around 155 lbs. or so. Even though I am/was incredibly into him, I think it's going nowhere probably because he is just more muscled -- and that is understandable to me. (A good proportion of that muscle was in his glutes -- LOL!-- which is definitely not the case for me, to my chagrin!) This was the first time I dated anyone so muscular and it made a huge positive impression on me. Not only was I really attracted physically (I was also attracted psychologically), it kind of gave me an example of the good overall lifestyle results of lifting weights. I suspect jacked guys see my pics and think 'abs!' then they say something like 'nice physique' and want to meet me -- but when we're standing shoulder to shoulder it's obvious that I'm really little in comparison! So sad LOL! Now I want to date more jacked men... but here is my dilemma: is it REALISTICALLY a waste of time until I am jacked myself? Or several months further along? Related question: is the gluteus really 'maximus'? Any thoughts and advice appreciated! This is my first forum post so I'm sorry if I'm being redundant or committing any other breach of etiquette. Thanks.
