I used to LOVE going to SixFlags Astroworld in Houston as a kid. Not sure if it's changed much since.

    LOL! Very clever.

Other than major theme parks (of which Disney World Orlando is our favorite), which the OP has crossed off the list, I haven't been to any. Just smaller local parks.

And best among them is Valleyfair in Shakopee, Minnesota, just outside of Minneapolis to the west. It also included a fairly good water park. I could park my RV a few miles to the south at an Indian casino reservation at a reasonable cost (subsidized by the gambling which I never did) and stay for a while.

The original Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, TX is still a nice park with many excellent rides.

Yeah, it is sad as it was a good park. Reports indicate at the time, the Six Flags corporation was in debt and needing to cut losses. Attendance at AstroWorld was down reportedly because families were afraid to go there because the park had become overrun by gangs. AstroWorld was apparently an income loser for Six Flags so it was closed. Some of the rides were relocated to other parks. The land sits empty other than being used as overflow parking for events at a neighboring facility.

I've always wanted to go to Cedar Point; I have a friend who works there painting backdrops and stuff.

Of the ones I've been to, I like Kennywood in Pittsburgh and Busch Gardens in Tampa.
