    Hey guys,
I'm going to Seattle for a course in October. I'll be there 10 days mostly just for work but I will have my evenings free and a couple of free days.
I love travelling but I don't really do the touristy thing. I like seeing what the locals do and find the good places for coffee and chilling out etc.
I'm also not much of a shopper but seeing as I'm in the USA I need to cash in on the cheaper clothes (Australia is very expensive for clothes).
So guys. What are your recommendations?
What's there to see and do in Seattle?
Let me know your thoughts. I will appreciate it greatly!
    If you're around say hi.

Wander around the Pike Place Market, and take the stairs down to the water front. The water front is a bit tacky, but it can be great people-watching.

Try the sea food: Elliot's is the best, if it's open (it's due to be renovated).

Cafe Campagne has fantastic provincial French cooking, seasonal.

The Museum of Flight is worth an afternoon for sure.

The REI flagship store is worth a visit - good active men's clothing section.

Take the ferry from downtown Seattle at Colman Dock to Bainbridge Island.
    Eat at Etta's.
Get on the SLUT and ride it around South Lake Union.
    Eat at Sitka and Spruce.
Shop for men's clothing at Totokaelo.
Walk around Greenlake and appreciate the men exercising,

Thanks guys! This is a great start! I'm definitely hitting up REI I need some outdoor gear and some new swimwear, wouldn't mind some speedo type things. Also a GPS watch and heard rate monitor would be great, it's about 40% cheaper in the USA! Also looking for some glasses so Totokaelo will be good to check out.
Any other sportswear places to check out? Or some cool fashion places?
    Places to eat...?
Anyone around in the middle of October?

I'll be around - get in touch if you'd care to have dinner with an old guy.

Second Sitka & Spruce, by the way - fantastic!
